Did not care for the format of the course and the peer review set up. Students were told of they scored very high in the course, they would be invited to attend courses in Tokyo. This led to students giving poor grades to others in order to improve their own grades. Information presented until I dropped the course was very basic.
Presents a good overview of the recording music business. Good for artists to take. Information is presented clearly and seems up to date. Good advice is given on how to survive in the industry.
During first run of the course, the functioning of the platform was glitchy. videos wouldn't play, dashboard wouldn't update, etc. The information is good and well presented when it can be accessed. Hopefully the platform problems will be resolved for future runs of the course.
Very interesting course taught in Chinese with subtitles and captions. Many relics are shown in videos from museums. Students learn much about the history of China through the relics shown. Would recommend this course.
You will learn many things about the history of China. This course is part of the China X series and once you take one, you will want to take them all. Fascinating details and facts well presented. Would recommend this course.
Interesting course, part of the China X series, which goes into detail about the history of China. Very knowledgeable professors and guests. Would recommend this course.
Very interesting course if you are interested in Global Health. It is nice to have different Professors during a course. The case studies are very interesting and bring in the real world perspective of Global Health. Would recommend this course.
Interesting facts presented well. Many photos, charts, etc. to help learning. Professors are very knowledgeable. Part of the China X series. Would recommend this course.
Course is well designed and includes actual x-rays, cat scans, MRI images, etc. If you have ever been in the medical system for treatment and testing, or know someone who has, this course explains and clarifies the tests that are done and why. Would recommend this course.
Continuation of the China X series from Harvard. Interesting material presented well. Many facts, graphs, charts, photos, etc. to help the student learn. Once you take one part of the China X series, you are hooked for all of them!
Greta course from MIT that lets you play with programming and actual data used in research. You get to use different research programs such as R and Python to complete assignments. Interesting to see how data is crunched in the real world. Would recommend this course.
Sometimes difficult course which really prepares you for immunology study. The Professor provides terrific notes so you can concentrate on the videos and just add your own notes if you want to. She really cares about the student understanding the material. The lectures are good although sometimes the audio is crackly or hard to hear. This is part 1 of a 2 part course. Very interesting subject matter and very well taught. Not dumbed-down for the online course. You feel like you are right there in he classroom at Rice. Would recommend this course.
Such a fun course! Blending science and cooking is a great idea! The science formulas can be tricky and frustrating at times, but the labs make up for it because you get to eat what you make in the lab! I learned so much in this course. I would hope everyone takes it!
Excellent course taught by excellent instructors. Information is clear and interesting. Professors are knowledgeable and fun to listen to. Many charts and graphs are used to assist in learning. I hope they can produce more courses from this team! Would absolutely recommend this course.
Very difficult course if you are not familiar with calculus and physics. Many derivations and formulas to know for exams. Professors are very knowledgeable. It would be nice if there were some worked examples provided. Had to research many things on the web that weren't covered in the lectures, but were asked in the questions.
This is an interesting course which provides many details about natural disasters and how they occur. The Professors are very knowledgeable and are quite fun to listen to. They give many demonstrations. I would recommend this course.
Fantastic course about Jazz. Full of great information and well presented. The Professor is terrific at explaining the concepts and demonstrating them on his piano and with his jazz combo. Wish there were more courses in the jazz vein. Learning was complemented by course features involving memory-based learning. Would completely recommend this course.
Fun course with puzzles to solve. It demonstrated well how math can be used to solve puzzles. Looked forward to each new lesson. Would recommend.
This is part 4 of a 10 part course on the history of China. Fascinating information presented well. The sound on the videos is sketchy at times. This part involved reading a lot of texts which were time consuming, but very interesting. Would recommend this course.
This is a ten part course on the history of China. Fascinating information clearly presented. Self paced as long as you complete all the required work by the end of part 10 if you want certificates. Uses multiple learning formats and guest lecturers. Would recommend.
Interesting course that provides an introduction to the question of how to use genomic information for medical research, within families, and for world-wide medical issues. I would recommend this course if you have a beginning interest in genomics. It would probably be too basic for someone already in the field or an advanced genomics student.
A nice course to get used to using Linux. Much of the file editing section would apply to people used to using Linux. It was nice to use their 'test-run' sections to try the exercises without having to actually use my PC for it. Many interesting facts along the way. Would recommend this course.
I loved the de-bunking that was done by the professors with regard to food/supplement myths. The information is credible and knowledgeable. I learned a great deal and would recommend this course to others. I looked forward to each week's lessons.
Hard course that demands your attention, what else would you want from MIT? Material is covered in-depth and you WILL learn it. Tests are hard also. I learned more from this course than I imagined was possible. Recommended to everyone.
I enjoyed this course very much. The videos were well done and informative. I wish the subjects could have even been more in-depth. I enjoyed the change of location for the videos and the fact the instructors were standing and moving....so much more engaging than a lecturer just sitting behind a desk or podium. And the guest lecturers were fun. The final project was a good chance to pull together information from the course and really think about impacting the world through change. I would recommend this course.
