The course covered the basics of the subjects on the syllabus but the quizzes (5 multiple choice questions) were far too easy. I still have to take the final exam, hopefully it will be more challenging.
I'm about halfway through this one, and so far it's been really fun. I have nearly zero experience programming but this has helped me advance at a faster rate on other courses (I'm also taking P4E by Charles Severance on Coursera).
The lectures were entertaining and very clear, although slightly superficial. For an introduction to the subject it was OK I guess. The quizzes were quite easy and they are the only requirement to get the Certificate of Accomplishment, so it was very easy to complete.
As others have mentioned, it is a good introductory course and if you're new to neuroscience, I'd recommend taking it. Having just finished Medical Neuroscience, I thought most of this was redundant and much more simple and superficial so I decided to drop it and watch the videos later as entertainment.
Overall I thought it was very good. I took statistics many years ago so this was a good way to refresh my knowledge on the subject. My only "complaint" is that some of the lab exercises felt a little disconnected from the lectures, where we had to take extra steps that were not mentioned in the videos in order to solve the problems. Anyway, I really did like it and would take further courses on the subject if they were offered by Prof. Conway.
I've taken several Coursera courses but this was by far the most demanding of all. It is also the one from which I've learned the most. I have a (sort of) Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the top university in my country (Argentina) and I'm sad to say Medical Neuroscience delved into the subject with much more depth than any of the subjects I took at uni. If you have the time, I highly recommend taking it. All the hours and effort put in it will be definitely worth it. It may look like too much at first, but the due dates are placed so that you can take the quizzes and exams in time even if you're a little behind. I've just finished it but can't wait to take it again :)
