The One-Variable Statistics course is a great refresher. The course is easy to understand. Although it does not provide all the fundamentals in statistics, it does provide with the topics a manager must be familiar with to understand and use statistics in business to mine data.
The Smartly Marketing Fundamentals course is a very good introductory course to marketing that comes with excellent practical exercises. The course is possibly easy to understand by a person who is not familiar with the topic or did not take marketing courses before this intro course. I would improve the question section by switching the answers to a new totally different set of answers. I noticed that for questions that required two or three answers to continue, the set of answers left once one was selected stayed the same. As a result, the rest of the answers were obvious choices that did not require much thinking. A new set of answers, once one is selected, would make students think deeper instead of giving them the chance to guess the next answers. Great course with lots of practical advice for business individuals.
This course provides a good overview of fundamentals in Microeconomics. I felt the course was a bit more of an exam type so students most be proactive and explore the subjects on their own before going over the content in this course.
Great introductory accounting course. The course covers most of the important aspects that a manager needs to know. It got me off guard as I didn’t remember all my accounting learnings but the course explains very well so a student, who took accounting before, can easily recall terminology and procedures. Also, the practice exercises are well put and easy to understand. This course reminded me of my hands-on accounting and in-class projects where I had to actually do the work in-depth analysis of business cases. In this course, however, I had to figure out things by myself which is even better as we become more skillful at remembering learnings and applying them to real case scenarios.
I enjoyed this course and gained a better understanding of finance. I look forward to more finance courses in the MBA Program.I love the active learning component and the visual aids in each lesson. The course is easy to understand and the format and content ensure that students do actually understand the material presented; no work around moving through the content. Also, I like how the learning process is enhanced by the constant interaction in each lesson. I would make the practice exercises at the end of each lesson a bit more challenging.
