I already had a fair common sense knowledge of managing my own personal and household finances but this course clarified some things I was doing right as well as giving me good ideas of how I could improve management of savings and planning for future financial incidents. I found it very practical and changed some of my financial arrangements based on what I had learned on the course. Very useful!
I gained a great insight into the world of Corpus Linguistics. As a complete beginner to this subject I only accessed the basic course materials but found they offered a lot of knowledge and were very informative.
I learned about the challenged facing small start up businesses and the variety of solutions to be chosen from. The course gave a good overview of the sorts of challenges fledgling businesses could face with realistic advice. Very interesting!
I increased my knowledge of Shakespeare's life and times and also discovered some plays I had not yet read and more about their background and contexts. I particularly enjoyed the historical items that were introduced each week and the partnership with Shakespeare's Birthplace trust as this enhanced the learning experience. A thoroughly enjoyable course!
I definitely improved and enhanced my knowledge of key texts and themes in these 2 genres. I found the time commitment quite high - the reading varied in length from week to week and some weeks I was struggling to get the reading and essay done in time. All in all however the course was well paces, full of great insights and information and thoroughly enjoyable!
I expected to increase my knowledge of Greek and Roman Myths and this course certainly helped me do that! I liked that the pacing was realistic - the readings for each week were very achievable and the time scale was reasonable. All in all a great course.
