This was one of my favourite modules of the brilliant ChinaX journey (ten parts)! The combination of lessons about socio-political and other developments during the Tang Dynasty as well as the deep and immersive look – enhanced by joyful hands-on exercises and follow-up discussions – into Tang poetry and calligraphy was highly motivational and inspiring. And it was especially this insight into the arts that helped to understand the Tang society's mentality, structure, and cultural blossom and how it was able to influence Asia and also the world back then. Professor Bol, his wonderful guest, Professor Stephen Owen, and the whole ChinaX team did an outstanding job for sure!

"Blue is the New Green" was a magnificent MOOC. Professor Bakker and her team were most engaged in highly valuable discussions with the students. In combination with wonderfully produced video lectures and well selected texts they introduced principles of water management, as well as the challenges of a global water crisis and how to potentially face them. Besides, the course was a great opportunity to learn more about one of the world's greenest cities: Vancouver.

For people interested in diving into China's development on cultural, political and general societal level HarvardX provides this wonderful ChinaX education programme. The offered lectures enable a deep insight. Vivid exchange with fellow students and Professors Bol and Kirby makes learning even more fruitful. If possible, I recommend taking a little bit more time than the estimated to also work with embedded secondary material.

This MOOC was most captivating and rewarding. Professor Slingerland and his team managed to lead the students to a great understanding of how ancient philosophers and schools of thought built the very fundament for China and Asia today, and how modern science shows that they fit into Western concepts as well.

"Blue is the New Green" was the first run of "Urban Water - Innovations for Environmental Sustainability" and a magnificent MOOC. Professor Bakker and her team were most engaged in highly valuable, engaged discussions with the students. In combination with wonderfully produced video lectures and well selected texts they introduced the challenges of a global water crisis and how to potentially face them, based on innovative principles and approaches of water management. Besides, the course was a great opportunity to learn more about one of the world's greenest cities: Vancouver.

I enjoyed it a lot to take part in this MOOC. It had to offer a lot of basic terms and approaches on urban design and planning as well as the already started future development of sustainable and resilient urban areas and megacities. As I would like to get deeper into that challenging matter now, I am looking forward very much to the following courses by ETHx. The learners' experience could still be improved a little by more engaging discussion moderation by the instructors and making presentations more vivid and immersive ("storytelling"). But in general "Future Cities" was worth every minute spent on it, and I can warmly recommend to participate.
