Very well done overview of the period for someone like myself whose background in world history is spotty. Discussion forums are quirky as staff ask unanswerable questions and try to Socratically drag engagement out of participants. Peer review of essays is a crapshoot, as many others have noted.
Never thought I would read the entire Odyssey and like it. Lectures and discussions based on readings of such classics, rather that a god-by-god analysis of pantheons, which I think is a good thing, though I would have liked to hear a little more about origins and comparative theodicy. At least one short essay is required and peer review is [unprintable].
Nicely done intro to the subject, and as background to the course on Greek and Roman Mythology. All readings are on-line.
Very good, though on balance I would give the nod to the Adelman History of the World from 1300. Zelikow provides a little different perspective on a little shorter period, and repetition is not a bad thing for us slow learners.
