This was my first Marketing Course. I have the highest regards for the Warton school, and this course did not disappoint. I'm not a fan of multiple professors teaching a single course, dividing it into segments. With this course, they worked together quite well. I would highly recommend this course.
I just finished this great Introduction to Financial Accounting class. Professor Bushee's off beat humor nicely contrasted the normally dry subject mater. A lot of effort was put into the slides, that are easy to print off, I found no need to take additional notes. The lecture videos are a little long at times. I highly recommend this course.
I gave this course two stars out of the respect I have for the Warton School, and for no other reason. It seems that no effort other than providing the poorly edited video logs of the professor's lectures, and sketchy notes for study. The sound quality was so poor, some times the professor could not be understood. I stayed on long enough to realize that there were, for me, unsurmountable technical and substantive issues. I recommend the staff take a look at how professor Brian Bushee structured his accounting course, also from Warton.
The first week of the course is great, worth enrolling to prepare anyone for any on-line course. The course is well crafted, with engaging lectures and a worthwhile practice exercises. My problem with the course, was the peer review portion. There were a number of ESL students enrolled seeming, and rightfully to improved their english writing skills. I found that fairly grading some of their writing was very time consuming. I still recommend this course, be prepared that your responsibility for peer review might be the hardest part of the course.
Be prepared for the accents of the various professors, I was thankful that the video player allows for the slowing down of the speech. The course content was great. There was some confusion over they posting of the grading and I was disappointed that neither Coursera or the course staff weighed in. I still recommend this course.
I am a professional musician, I play the electric bass. I thought it would be fun to take this course, and I wasn't disappointed. Be prepared for "peer" review, it is sometime trying. I leaned more that I thought I might, old dog new tricks. I do recommend this course.
Easily my favorite and the course that I am the most proud to have accomplished. My math skills were rusty, so it really forced me to figure other ways to solve some of the problems. I recommend that you take a refresher course in basic algebra before taking the course. Dr. Lagerstrom is the best! His lectures are well thought through, although there were times I thought my head would explode. This course is not for the faint at heart, if you haven't been exposed to Einstein's work before, prepare to really think. Do it!
Great introduction to economics, taught in a way that the principles were very easy to understand. Professor Vazquez is very engaging, and the video lectures are well done. It does, and should take some study. My only regret; I didn't enroll in Signature Track, I would have liked to have gotten a verifiable certificate for my work. I highly recommend this great course.
I found Richard Adelstein a very engaging professor. It was very interesting to see how economic forces influence the way we write and interpret our law. I highly recommend this course.
I took this course to sharpen math skills that I found lacking while struggling through another on-line class. I found the self-paced format of the course a real bonus. I successfully completed the class in less than two weeks. I strongly recommend this course.
