Manager of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships
Connor oversees corporate partnerships and strategic initiatives at Coursera, a social entrepreneurship company that works with the best universities to connect anyone around the world with the best education, for free. He focuses on driving value to Coursera's learners and university partners. Previously, Connor was show runner and lead actor for a children's educational news program, as well as a primary school teacher in South Africa and South Korea. Connor's academic research focuses on using cognitive disfluency to improve classroom learning; his work has been cited in over 80 academic articles and featured in news outlets from The Economist to CNN. Connor is also the founder of Own What You Think, a national campaign bringing accountability into the way we interact online. His awards include the Cognition and Learning Prize from the Cognitive Science Society and the Moses Taylor Pyne Honor Prize, the highest distinction conferred on a student at Princeton University.
Karl Mehta

Karl is a serial entrepreneur, author, investor and engineer with over 20 years of experience founding, building and funding technology companies. He currently serves as Founder & CEO of EdCast Inc., a next-generation knowledge platform company. Previously, he was venture partner at Menlo Ventures, a leading Silicon Valley VC firm, and Founder & CEO of PlaySpan Inc., acquired by Visa Inc. Karl served as a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow, selected by the Obama administration during the inaugural 2012-13 term. He was recently appointed by Governor Brown to the Workforce Investment Board of the State of California. In 2010, Karl won the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award from Ernst & Young for Northern California. Karl is on the board of Simpa Networks and the advisory boards of Intel Capital and Chapman University’s Center of Entrepreneurship. He has founded several nonprofits, including Code For India and Grassroots Innovation. He is the author of the upcoming book Financial Inclusion at the Bottom of the Pyramid.

Currently, he's focused on helping edX — a nonprofit, open-source enterprise offering online courses from more than 60 member institutions — work toward its mission of educating a billion learners. Marco co-founded BrightLoop Learning and worked previously at Pearson Education and Alleyoop. He is an education instructor at Olin College and a volunteer instructor for Boston Startup Institute's product and design track.
Patrick Ford

Patrick is an engineer, executive and entrepreneur who has launched several startups and worked at companies such as Microsoft, Fujitsu, Yahoo and Atari. Two years ago he made the decision to temporarily step down from management to renew his technical skills. He took online classes from such providers as lynda.com, Code School, Udemy and others before getting accepted to the Hack Reactor bootcamp in San Francisco. He is currently Software Development Manager for McKesson and serves as an online mentor for students at Thinkful, which trains people to advance their careers through online courses and 1-on-1 mentoring. As a Thinkful mentor, Patrick covers Front End Web Development, AngularJS and preparatory training for students interested in getting accepted to onsite bootcamps like Hack Reactor and MakerSquare.

As CEO of AcademixDirect, which connects learners with the right educational opportunities for them, Don also leads CourseTalk, the largest source for reviews of online courses, acquired by AcademixDirect in 2013. Don has more than fifteen years of executive leadership experience and a passion for expanding access to education that springs from his experience as a first-generation college student. Previously, Don was Executive Vice President at AccuQuote and Vice President of Sales at Washington Mutual. He has served on the advisory boards of nine companies in the technology, manufacturing and financial services industries.
