A very good way to learn basic javascript. This was an enjoyable course. I particularly liked the combination of clear videos and slides followed by 'challenges'. I also thought giving hints to challenge solutions was a good way of making the student persevere in his/her efforts to find the correct answer. However, I found it frustrating that the course wouldn't give me the answer when I was truly stuck!

Very entertaining. Thanks for this course. Much more entertaining than the design course. Would it be possible to teach this course at a higher level, for people who already know about loops, conditionals, etc.? Also, Jason is way cuter with his glasses on than off.

These JavaScript Road Trip courses are great! I'm learning quickly and feel like I'm really retaining it. I do have one small suggestion. I think if there were more exercises, even small ones, between each video it would do a better job of really driving things home. Overall, though, great job!

Great material. I have taken a few JavaScript introductory courses and can safely say that this is by far the best. The use of practical examples is very well executed.

Good stuff. The lectures were clear and the problems were for the most part self explanatory and challenging. The last question on level 4, Problem Solving with Functions II, was a little vague on what exactly it wanted me to put down. I think the main reason was that the problem was solved in a way that wasn't really covered in the previous video. Other than that, good stuff!

Generally a good course. The exercises motivated me to find the answers on my own and THINK, which was awesome! Whereas, Codeacademy is basically entering repetitive syntax and crossing your fingers. I found myself trying to develop more complicated syntax than necessary and stretched the goals of the exercises. I didn't grasp the simplicity of the exercises because it wasn't clear to me, but the good news is that it pushed me to learn more than I ever had before.

I felt it was a great course. The only failing was really my own math logical skills. know it may seem odd, but a crash basic math for computer scientists, would be great. I know khan has great math courses, but I think a course how to think of math with computer science would be useful.

Pretty neat. I got trapped in a while loop in one of the lessons that had you set an outside variable to true when asking the user to confirm their age. I had to force quit my browser. You may just want to warn about that. Other than that, it went pretty smoothly. Looking forward to the next set of lessons.

Excellent. Well paced and informative course that also built on knowledge of the previous course. The material was very well presented and explained and the tests were very good for testing both technical and problem solving skills.

Excellent course for basic JavaScript learners. The course is excellent for elementary level JavaScript learners. It includes the important basics and building blocks of JavaScript. Obviously, the code challenges are added bonus for each learner. Well done.

Great Strategy, A Few Bugs. I love how the courses get me to do problem solving, rather than just telling me what to type or reciting a bunch of jargon for me to read or listen to. Hands-on usage is the only way my brain will reliably retain the info. There's a few instances in the problems, though, in which the answer checker gave me a really hard time because of something small, like a difference in syntax style or because I had one extra space after the period in a string sentence. For example, loops and if statements don't require curly brackets if the contents is only one line. In fact, you can write the entire if statement across as "if (a == true) b += 1". There were several times the program kept telling me "incorrect response" and it took me finally buying the answer to find out the only difference was one character or the aesthetics of my brackets / whitespace.

Hi, I think the road trip is pretty good, the buildup of the material is very solid. Of all the questions that popup in my head during the videos very few remain at the end. And the challanges are very helpfull to get the material memorized. As well as the amount of new material introduced each section is perfect. What does not work is to play the video at different speeds. (I'm on chrome.) And what annoys me is that sometimes my answer is not seen as correct, because it is done slightly different then expected, but does produce a correct result. But overall, pretty good :) Take care, Thijs Oostdam

Nice Intro to the next step in JS. I've you've programed in any other language there isn't a lot of new stuff here but it's a great way to learn 1) how to code or 2) the javascript syntax. I hope they keep going deeper into the language though.

Great for fundamentals. I've always wanted to improve my literacy to where I can read what a script is doing. This course is helping me get there, though it's taking some time to wrap my head around the functions and arrays, which I'll probably need to review. That being said, it's a great launch point to understanding the logic of programming beyond the HTML and CSS.

Great JS Intro Course. This was a great intro course to Java. I thought that the instructor did a great job in clearly articulating each lesson, homing in on the essence for each. The exercises were a bit challenging because the problem descriptions in a couple were a little vague, or open to too much interpretation. I was able to complete all of them, however, by "checking my code" and using hints when necessary.

I am into the second part of JavaScript Roadtrip and maybe I'm an idiot but I still don't understand what the points are heading towards. I feel like I should have a better understanding/ explanation of the point system in the orientation of code school. I realize I can buy answers and build points but I don't know what the point is. Overall I love the style of learning and feel really happy about taking this course. The host is very easy to watch and entertaining. I would definitely tell anyone I know to sign up for Code School. Thanks, Brian
