You should probably have a super basic understanding of programming to get all the way through it, but it was really well done. Anyone looking to learn a language that's on it's way in, this is how you do it!

Web applications is the future ! Im so on to it, just finished my first Ruby experience and ill be starting as soon as possible my Rails for Zombies epic campaing. My only request is: On tutorials just like Try Ruby, explain a little more about the Code Body, not just what he does. I mean, there is like 3 lines of code and you guys some time just say what the code does, don't explain how to make it. Thanks ! You guys are fucking awesome!

Hello to everyone who did "Try Ruby". It very usefull, explanation was in common words so I didn't have much questions or any dificulties. I don't know how others deals with it but it took me more than an hour (instead of written 15 minutes)- but I think that it was good for me, becouse when you think that it is just 15 minutes test- you feel more comfortable rather when you know that it will take up to 2 hours. Anyway- thanx for everything and I'm waiting rails for zombies 2. Gregg Pollack- you got good voice skills that helps people to understand you even when english is not their native )

I thought the TryRuby course was a great primer to the Ruby language. The only issue I has was with the in browser editor. It kept freezing up on me and most times I had to close down my browser and reopen it. All in all great material, and presented very well.

This lesson was a mess. Syntax errors. Pages advancing when they shouldn't, flashing when they shouldn't, and not advancing when they should. I feel like I used a pre-alpha version. If I didn't know Ruby, I would not want to use it after this.

Popups never happen. Often doesn't auto-advance to the next page, or advances before it should. 5 stars for the fact that it's clear, fun, and allowed me to make cool stuff where I could understand what the code was doing.

This tutorial and how it's made is really great, but the final 2 lessons have some bugs, when you try out some code it jumps to the next lesson. It should wait to finish trying all code that is listed in the tutorial. Only 4 stars.

Excellent intro to Ruby, only downside was that the tutorial didn't pick up some of the inputs correctly so it was a little frustrating at times. Overall very good though.

A decent interactive introduction to Ruby. This seems like it must have been one of Code School's earlier creations because it doesn't have the same structure or the amount of polish put into it most of their other classes. There are no videos: it is an entirely text-based course, much like Codeacademy courses.

A brief but pleasant introduction to Ruby. It seems pitched for complete beginners, but moves quickly through a fair number of topics. Unfortunately, I didn't feel that I actually mastered any of those topics. Codecademy is much better for actually practicing the material enough that you can write your own programs. This is more of a whirlwind tour. I did get hung up on a sequence where I was copying a large chunk of code in order to populate a popup window. I tried to copy the code exactly, but it wasn't working. I'm not sure if it was a bug or I misunderstood something. If this course were supplemented by a more thorough explanation of Ruby, I'd be more comfortable recommending it wholeheartedly. That said, if you just want to Try Ruby, well I guess this will do just fine.

A nice elementary point regarding Ruby language, with good interactivity (but less than other Code School courses).
