  ANAPHYLAXIS Anaphylaxis is a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. It may occur in adults or children not previously known to be allergic or hypersensitive. The reaction ranges from mild, self-limited symptoms to rapid death. Symptoms of a reaction can occur within seconds to minutes after exposure. This course will review signs, symptoms and treatment of this life threatening condition.   OBJECTIVES: List the learner objectives in behavioral/measurable outcomes for evaluation.  After completing this activity, the learner will be able to… ·        Describe 3 signs and symptoms of children who present with anaphylaxis in school. ·        Articulate management and treatment of anaphylaxis. ·        Describe components of an emergency care plan for the student with severe allergy who may have anaphylaxis.
