Professor was very enthusiastic and seemed knowledgeable, but the course suffered from software bugs, a lack of clear structure, and a sense of superficiality. The assessments were not challenging enough.

Really great course, taught with so much enthusiasm. Covered a really wide range of subjects as well. Really would recommend this course, really surprised there are not a lot more reviews on it here.

I must first mention that I only followed the lectures and did complete the assignments for time reasons. This course gives a good overview of the topic, the breadth and depth of the lectures is very well balanced. It gave me a good understanding of the development of psychology, pointers to videos and books to learn more, and opened my appetite for more! And Steve does a great job at explaining things, very clear lectures, minimalistic but efficient format, which makes you feel like you are sitting in his office while listening to the "story of psychology". I also appreciated the informal and friendly communication with the students.

Great course! Good difficulty - challenging but not overloading, covering lot of ground. Very engaging and informative lectures and top delivery with plenty of examples. Granted, a bit chaotic at times, but I guess that comes with the turf. The exams were also unconventional - not even within the Coursera environment but on an external system. It was at first tricky getting used to the different system, but in retrospect it worked much better than the typical Coursera quiz. Sadly, the netiquette was not enforced as in other courses and trolls often roamed free in the forum. Those are minor issues, though, and overall this was a fantastic course - highly recommended.
