Course Description

Introduction to solar cells is a course designed to be a window into the world of solar cell technologies. The course is built around three core questions: - Where can solar cells be applied and what can be done to optimize their usefulness - How can the power generated from a solar cell be used and measured - What general types of solar cells exists and how do they compare In the course you will learn about solar cell history, why we need solar energy, how solar cells produce power, and how they work. We will also talk specifically about solar cell technologies, so you will learn what the difference is between mono and multi-crystalline solar cells. What thin film solar cells are, and what new emerging technologies is being developed.

I was very satisfied with the course. The instructor did a great job of communicating the content. Some of the assignments were a bit though, but the content provided helped a lot.

I am very happy I took the course since I was looking for an overview of solar cell technologies. The course goes into the physics and inner workings of solar cells, but the explanations were always clear and the assignments provided excellent feedback allowing me to keep up. Recommended to anyone with an interest in solar technologies.

The course is very well structured and the content is very well presented. I highly appreciated the variations in the material especially the interactive tools used to illustrate key concepts. I can highly recommend the course to anybody with an interest in solar cells.
