This is a very good course for people who seek to gain skills in analyzing and visualizing large volume of data. You will discover the fun in working with pivot charts and data models. This is the second course in a series. If you do not have some knowledge of pivot tables and pivot charts, you may want to take the 'Introduction to Data Analysis' course before taking this one. The instructor is great.

It is about 10 years since I had training in Excel and I have found it difficult to understand many of the new features. This course illustrated them very clearly and explained how to use them - I loved it and will almost certainly do more courses with you. .

Generally brilliant, but there were just a few places where the information presented or questions asked was either not clear or ordered appropriately. Though understandable, given the nature of MOOCs, this results in a harsh 14 out of 15 stars.

Great course, especially around Excel's Data Model. Good addition to your knowledge in Excel, focusing more on its new features to properly handle data from external sources and analyze and visualize them.

I have taken several courses through edX and I enjoy the format/interface. However, I found this course very difficult due to technical complications. This course seems to have been thrown together without working out the bugs. I do feel like I learned quite a bit about Excel but it was overshadowed by the technical difficulties and the feeling that I had to slog through this course. Also, I'm not sure there was a current assistant/TA for this course as I never received responses to my posts about the difficulties. As far as the instructor, his accent is an obstacle, and he is not a charismatic teacher, but, by the end of the course, I was used to it. They must have used voice to text for the transcripts of the course because those were filled with errors. The quizzes did not always match the material presented in the lectures and I found myself constantly consulting other resources to get through the course. Anyway, I think this cou... I loved this course! I work with demographic and assessment data rather than sales data but he concepts translated very well into applications beyond business. It did an excellent job structuring opportunities to "learn while doing." A few of the quiz questions along the way were confusing, but I found the community posts at the bottom of each section tremendously helpful. I started with a very basic knowledge of Excel but now feel very confident to move on to the next courses in the series.

it covers a lot of the important details one will find very useful while working with data. However it opens up new challenges by introducing other concept that are not easily identified as viable solution while working, such concept includes things like MDX language etc.

This was my preparation for the 70-779 exam. Only the voice of the instructor was not always very good to understand. Content was OK, although if possible the course could have a higher difficulty level.

I think this is an excellent course. I took the course to help prepare me for Exam 70-779. I suspect for this purpose it might be a little light but is a good base. I struggled only on a few questions that I felt could be interpreted a few different ways. Overall an excellent user experience, nice tracking and reasonable additional learning links. One minor gripe would be there are a couple of videos with a computer voice, bearable though.

Great learning experience. I never knew Excel could do this much. Even though I have used Excel for a very long time, this is my first time of knowing about the Excel Data Model. The instructor was good, and the practices helped a lot in the learning process.

When you work with tools that need to be mastered, beyond the previous knowledge we achieved, courses like this provide serious and structured advances on the capability to manage the data and bring ideas based on real world numbers to express reality.

Very detailed instructions. The course and the labs are very structured, making the learning an enjoyable experience. I particularly like the way the same data set and industry scenario has been used from the beginning to the end, building on up on the basic analysis to complex dashboards. I now have a new level of respect for the instructor and Excel.

Overall it was a great experience for me to learn and i would recommend the providers to start off with some basics so that one can really grasp from the beginning. And towards the end when things were getting a bit heavy, kindly elaborate it a bit more as whenever someone learns something new it feels a bit surreal to sink everything at once. Thank You !!

The course has much to improve. The presenter speaks in a dull manner and not engaging. Presentation is often not clear to the point - a MOOC environment requires clearer speech and organisation than in a classroom setting. I often felt left behind when the instructor just continues clicking something on his computer, or things are pre-configured in his computer but not accessible to others. Then we become mere watchers. DAT101x course was far better delivered in these regards.
