I think the course has been organized in a very convenient manner. After each lesson you have a very strong background in which you can apply. Vocabulary are all related and applying it is easy. The grammar is presented in such a very clear, simple and easy manner. It is great! I would recommend anyone studying Chinese to use this as an additional resource or anyone that wishes to learn Chinese. The teacher's lessons are very interesting and informative. I also love the dialogues! You instantly apply what you just learned! Great course!!

This course was nice. It was easy to go through. Estella Y. Chen presented the material in a fun way with the video demonstrations. I really liked how it was arranged. I'm studying Chinese to increase my learning and communication with Chinese, and this was really nice. It's great to communicate with people in their native language.

I came here from the Level 1 course and loved this class so much. I am really hoping that a level 3 is in the works. I already signed up for Mandarin X's Business Chinese. It should be quite challenging but I am up for the challenge. Estella is very beautiful. She has a very reassuring vocal tone and she is so kind. Her passion for teaching shines throughout the Mandarin X series. The Facebook Live content is cool too :).

Hello. My name is Marina. This is my second experience of learning Chinese with Estella and the team (I used the Level 1 in summer, 2015). I'm very delighted with it. All is perfect. Material is easy to understand. Insrtuctor is very professional. Video and vocabulary is very informative. I'm greatful for Estella and the team for this course. I'm glad that you're letting my dream of learning Chinese come true. I have a progress, and finally hope to speak fluently.

I am enjoying the course as I did the Level 1 course. The video, vocab and grammar content is great and so is the instructor. I would have liked more opportunity to practice the grammar points. Perhaps after the videos and before the test, there could be a 'practice' or 'excercise' section. I would suggest in this section there be, from among the words and grammar constructions so far learnt, a selection of specific words with the instruction to make a sentence with such and such grammar construction using the words in the selected list. For example: ***** Make sentences using the 先...再 construction using the following words (and have one example sentence): 1. 我..这次...要...日本...旅行...去...韩国 wǒ..zhècì.yào.Rìběn.lǚxíng..qù.Hánguó 2. 东西..吃饭......今天晚上.... ..我.. 去..想.....买..去 dōngxī.chīfàn.jīntiān wǎnshàng..wǒ ..qù..xiǎng..mǎi.qù Something like that (not sure it's correct :-)) with 3- 4 exercises for each grammar construction then a... That'd help consolidate the student's knowledge and encourage each student to start making up their own sentences. I would have found something like this useful. That might form the basis for discussion threads also where more knowledgeable students could comment on the sentences made by the less knowledgeable ones. Regarding the forming of study groups, it was a very very confusing and time consuming process. The discussion threads in general might work better if there were some way to divide the discussion threads into a very basic group, an intermediate basic group and an advanced basic group or according to time zones?? I've seen that kind of discussion thread division on other MOOCs which helped the student to narrow down where they should look for similar level peers.

The content is fine. I like how there's a transcript available of what's said in the video. I don't mind interacting with the students. However, gathering a group of 5+ people in different time zones together at the same time for a skype chat goes against the convenience of online learning. I prefer a system where people can message one another and reply at our own conveniences. I'd like there to be more challenging quizzes and assignments. I've done other online courses and it was fun having assignments that I would hand in and the instructor would grade. Multiple choice for everything allows automated grading, but it doesn't really challenge me as much as I'd like.

This course helps me to advance from looking up characters by hand in 新华子典 to being able to pronounce sentences properly. It gives a good choice of words to learn, helpful videos, and good course materials. I didn't know that the facebook material existed, and I'll also follow MandarinX on Twitter. The Skype session was most helpful, and because of it, I can now type in Chinese characters when I have the need to.

Before enrolled this course (i took the previous first level), i'm always think Mandarin is difficult. But when i know this course, i think "why not learning Mandarin. And i was surprised, because Mandarin is not difficult as i thought. The teacher is very kind, and teach us how to speak with correct tone, also make Mandarin easier and fun. And now i have no doubt to enroll this course because i'm satisfied with previous course. Thank you so much :)
