This course is incredible. It is structured to follow a dramatised murder investigation from the scene of the crime right through to the trial and sentencing, and provides a video to watch each week before a series of lessons pertaining to that stage of the investigation. This keeps the lessons grounded with a strong reference point, and also makes it fun - not only was the content interesting, but I also wanted to find out what happened next in the story. The topics are covered in enough detail to be thought-provoking, but with enough brevity to make it digestible as an introductory course. The instructors also discuss everything with objectivity, heavily citing both clinical and "real-world" research to reinforce the points they are trying to make while also continually playing devil's advocate. There are no real assessments aside from a multiple choice quiz after each stage. This was ideal for me, as the quizzes made me aware of... This course is incredible. This was ideal for me, as the quizzes made me aware of whether I was retaining information, but didn't bog me down for long periods of time. This does mean however that you'll only get out of this course what you put in as you're not forced to dwell on or write much about the subject matter. This course has definitely made me want to learn more about the Psychology of Criminal Justice, and as a starting point I'm looking forward to diving into the recommended additional reading soon. I hope the instructors consider creating more courses in future.

I am an experienced investigator and interview trainer but in many ways this course was an eye opener. I can recommend this course to people working in the field of investigations. The quality of the content is very high and I like the e-learning. I am not familiar with a jury as I live in the Netherlands but it was interesting to get a better understanding of this legal system.

I do really enjoy the course. It was particularly useful regarding the basics and introduction to the psychology of criminal justice. I believe it would be helpful addition to my wish for further studies in Criminology, International Crime and Justice etc. The only think that I regret is that I could not afford to pay for a verified certificate as it was relatively expensive than other courses on edx. Though I do appreciate that it is more specific and complex topic. Thank you to all the lectures and people who participated in the construction of the course. I look forward to new courses on Crimes, forensic expertise, criminology and justice.

I happen to be a lawyer and I am thoroughly impressed by the quality of this course. It is an excellent summary of the criminal justice process. It goes beyond the psychology to provide an informed analysis of all the key steps within the criminal justice system for prosecuting crimes. The tools this course uses to allow the learner to participate as well as the grading system are superb. My hat goes off to the team for the excellent job done in putting together this valuable course. I would recommend this course to everyone to learn how the criminal justice system works and its weaknesses. This course should be provided to all high school students before graduation so they can see how the system works to investigate and punish crime for their benefit and the challenges the system faces.

Hi, this type of courses are very good, because we learn to see the difference in Clinical Psichology and Criminal Psychology. In my Country Mexico not even exist this kind of Studies for Criminals.

I have taken about half a dozen edx courses over the last two years. My first course (Wiretaps to Big Data) was very good, while other courses could not measure up and therefore left me slightly disappointed. But now that I have had the pleasure of taking this course, the bar will be set even higher going forward. The storyline of the course is superbly portrayed and the informational videos are all very well done. The links provided for additional information are a nice touch as well. This course was a lot of fun and I learned a lot and cannot see why someone would not be equally thrilled with this course. Thanks to the entire team!
