I never really got a grip on Cybersecurity until I enrolled and took this course. It really was an eye-opener for me and has triggered so much interest that I am bursting with hunger to learn more. With concise instructions and hand-on practicals, the instructor did a "fantabulous" job at delivering the course.

The course is an excellent foundation for gaining a start in cybersecurity. The instructor was clear, precise and provided good examples which exemplified the points or made them even clearer. Having moved into the field of cybersecurity after many years as a system administrator then as a technical consultant in the card payments industry, I have found this course to be invaluable. It and the instructor get a big thumbs up from me!

The course was one of the best I've ever done. Professor Weissman has been very professional and clear in explaining every topic, using an agile-based learning methodology. Contents and all additional information have fully satisfied my curiosity and they will be very useful for my work as IT Manager. I would suggest this course to anyone who wants to get into cybersecurity, either with computer knowledge or not. Moreover, I also recommend to buy a verified certificate because it will really add value to your professional and personal carreer. Cristian IT Project Manager

Although it is just introductory level course, it already provided some very interesting knowledge. I work as a network engineer for broadband company so Networking part was just a refresher but altogether it was all well worth. The main attribute of this course, is its instructor – Jonathan S. Weissman. His video lectures were massive added value to the course. He has a great ability to explain even most complexed subjects. It was a pleasure to watch lectures every week, I’m continuing with RITx Micro Masters program and looking forward to next courses. As always edX cannot be praised enough, their courses are great way of improving working knowledge. For a self learner like myself, it is also great way to get Certification.

Solid foundational information, covering enough of the necessary background for exercises and later topics or units within the course. Worked as a software developer, with network experience and some passing familiarity with threats on an ancedotal level, and was interested in learning more. Instructor Jonathan S Weissman, very enthusiastic, well spoken and easy to understand. Once, maybe twice, I wondered if the illustrative examples transcended a worldwide audience but hard to think of a universal example myself. My first edX course, no issues, platform was intuitive and easy to use and presentations and quizes worked without problems.

I was a Computer Science graduate of 1989 from New Jersey. I worked as System (Network) Administrator back then using LAN and Novell Network. I had experience in cleaning up the virus on computer hard disks and doing repairs at that time. I almost left my field but using my education and experience to help younger generation. Currently I am in the field of selling Education Savings Program to children in Ontario, Canada. I am a self-learner and learn many things by myself utilizing the wonderful courses from edX. I have finished half way of my Master’s Degree in Computer Science in 1990s. This course and Prof. Jonathan was great and I enjoyed very much. My only regret is time and less preparation.

I have nothing but praise for this course and the RIT-team making and teaching it, with a special thanks to our lecturer mr. Weissmann. His enthusiasm and his knowledge in the subject, and teaching for that matter, have contributed so much to this course. With no real proffesional IT background, let alone any real knowledge in cyber security this course taught me a tremendous lot. Realy everybody should have this fundamental knowledge about cyber security. For myself I can say this course got me inspired, I will start the next course in the MicroMaster Cyber Security, and maybe I will find myself at the end of the year completing the entire MicroMaster. Enthralling stuff this cyber security ;-)

The course content is very good so you can feel a wide view of Cybersecurity. It will open your mind to other aspects to continue the studies. The instructor, Prof, Weissman is a very good instructor. He explains all the course content with good didactics. The Edx platform is a very good way to learn something or to improve what you already know.

Hi there, cheers from a southern hemisphere city in Argentina! I'd like to thank you Jonathan and all the Staff for making this course an amazing introduction journey to Cybersecurity. I come from quite a different background, translation, and have been studying a bit of computer science over the years: a little Java, some testing (just to see what was it about). I have always been interested in cybersecurity, but the fear of not being able to cope with the technical knowledge was there, waiting for me to not understand something, to yell: "'told ya!!! you can't!". Well then, I just finished the course, and I'm going for more! I chose the audit track at first, just to see what was this about. It's been tough at times for me. Sometimes I wanted to quit. But something there kept me hooked. So here I am, prepared to keep on learning. Thanks also to my peers, for all your great contributions on the forum, see you soon!

The content was great, would have preferred some additional hands on, the one i saw in the course was okay, i really expected to see alot, time for preparation for the next course work wasn't really enough but was okay, quite manageable. The instructor was very okay, he handled the course brilliantly well, won't mind having him as a lecturer if i was a student, because he took his time to explain each of the modules well. The provider was also okay, didn't have issue with the provider, although i noticed my layout changed during the course and i couldnt change it anymore.

I really liked this course. It was very clearly presented, with good examples and lots of additional material, as well as practice assignments. Especially I liked cryptography and and system administration sections. What's also important - video lectures are well spoken in clear English (don't have to struggle to understand presenter's accent as it happens sometimes). This course is totally worth taking, highly recommend.
