I skipped a lot of the statistics and Python/R videos because other courses already cover those. The Azure examples were well done and the way Azure is designed makes it easy to understand the data science process. The labs had excessively descriptive instructions which made sure you never got lost but were a little boring to read. You could probably do the labs without watching the videos at all, but the videos are well done.

Really enjoyed taking this course. Very nice introduction to Azure machine learning environment. I have a couple of suggestions: 1. A few additional exercises on data plotting which encourage the student to write their own python code would be very helpful. 2. One additional lecture on the various machine learning algorithms (or a subset of) available and how to choose the proper algorithm for training the model will be helpful. While doing the labs I just picked the recommended algorithm and did not have any insight into why one was preferred over the other.

Great Course, some overlapping Probability and statistics lessons with other courses in the curriculum but it helps with the practice. It would have been nice to have more testing options between each module. But for the overall great and quite enjoyable contents.

I enjoyed the course and learnt a lot from it, but more encouragement to practice plotting would have been helpful as it's too easy to go through the labs just copying and pasting and thinking you've understood more than you have.

I graduated from University of Southern California. I took Biostatistics and Data Analysis courses in my graduate program. For this course, the instructors are top-notched. I learned it a lot. The course seemed to be equal to a one-term course in my graduate school. The whole program seemed to be equal to a master program in my university. Thank you, MIT, Microsoft, and Edx! Highly recommend the program to anyone who is serious in Data Science.

I started this course 5 weeks ago with no knowledge of Data Science of Machine Learning. This course if perfect for the beginner. Just as the course title implies, this will teach you most of the "essentials" and give you a foundation of which to build off of to pursue other courses. The instructors knew their stuff

It was a good course which teaches basics about data science using Azure ML, MySQL, Python and R. The course is well structured and lab sessions are good, but in Final Challenge section in Part 2, histograms and scatter plot question were quite difficult. I request if you can provide the solution so that I can see where did I went wrong. Overall it was an Excellent Course.Thank you.

The Course was very well organized, walked me step by step. The Content is more dry in the Stats part but otherwise was great! More example to understand and apply statistics Module 3 could be very helpful. Instructors are very good in their SME. Thankful to the provider!
