The instructor was great. He was clear and precise in his instruction though chooses to use quite complex examples at times. My greatest disappointment in this course is that the final was incredibly short and covered questions that were a bit outside of the scope of previous course material. I had purchased all four modules of the MBA Essential Series by ImperialX. I highly recommend saving this module for last if you have minimal business training as a lot of the simpler concepts, such as net price value, are fortified in the other courses. This helps to build a stronger foundation to understand the more complex financial principles that are discusses in this course.

I greatly enjoyed studying this well organized course which exceeded my expectations. This was my first ever course in finance, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality introduction to the subject.

The course was due to start about 10/17, at which point I remember I got a mail with a link that did not work. At the time, I was tied up at Harvard Law. Since then ... nothing ! Just a lousy mail urging me to pay for the "certificate". I did not get the chance to see the course, next time better ?

Firstly, a disclaimer: I aced the exam. Seeing as this is the first time this course has been run, readers please take this review as perhaps over-critical and attribute the date of this review when considering this course in the future. This is purely out of desire for this course to improve. I felt the need to say that this course was not at all interactive nor intuitive. I felt that some activities were just pointless for the brevity of an online course. And there were several “advertisement” videos of the Imperial Business College MBA programme. The jargon-heavy teaching was difficult to grasp at times. Often, I had to google the concepts after the videos to understand it properly. Background: I am postgraduate educated from NZ and Australian universities, I have spoken in English all my life and I honestly found this course frustrating to follow. Background: I am postgraduate educated from NZ and Australian universities, I have spoken in English all my life and I honestly found this course frustrating to follow. The course seems to be set up for students who already have an introductory idea about financial jargon. The applications of concepts (using step by step worked examples) need to be worked through far better. Final point about the assessment: Break up the assessments into weighted assignments or quizzes at the end of every topic. Having a 100% assessment exam at the end is an old school train of thought. Makes students focus on cramming the whole course rather than learning each module in focus.
