This was the first class I've taken through edX, and I was very pleased with the content of the course and the instructor. It was a great overview of financial accounting, with good definitions of the terminology and the relationships between different accounting terms. The presentations were easy to follow (though the videos with the three company founders were a bit cheesy; I ended up skipping them) and the quizzes/exercises appropriately tested my comprehension of the material. I took this course to further my own knowledge of something adjacent to my responsibilities at work, and I'm glad I did. I don't feel like I missed out on anything by not pursuing a certificate or not having classmates to interact with in real life or real-time.
