If you are motivated to learn about prime numbers, and have some background (maybe, like me, you have tried to teach yourself everything about prime numbers using wikipedia and other websites) this course will provide a useful summary and smooth outline of the foundation concepts, conjectures, theorems and proofs, as well as some fairly low-key practice exercises to ensure you're grasping the general ideas. However, if I hadn't had a little previous exposure to some of the concepts I would have had a hard time following some of the lectures, and I don't think the exercises do much more than test whether you've got the gist. Still, I was very grateful that this course existed, and I think it's awesome for prime number enthusiasts. I would never have guessed that there would be a MOOC for a niche topic like prime numbers. I definitely think it's helping me feel more confident in my knowledge of the basics, so that I can continue with... The instructor has some good ideas to present the material. However, from my point of view, he didn't realize it that well! I liked the fact that proofs were given and explained. But again, proofs were given in a way which could be highly improved in terms of explanation strength and presentation! Furthermore, the course actually requires more prerequisite knowledge than presumed.

This course can be taken comfortably in 4 afternoons or evenings with a 2 hours effort each . It was nice to have the topics which the course covered presented to me , but i do not think the course content was always clear or suitable for someone without mathematical background whilst the course probably aims at this audience : Its worth taking to get some impression , but this is all the course may do then , whilst for the mathematical minded person this course may be unsatisfying . With a bit of improvement this course could become a very nice experience in future .

Fascinating, well conducted, abstract learns much ... Very grateful, so learned and cherished moments of numerical reflection that the course allows. Not only fun with prime numbers, you learn to estimate them ...
