I just completed the course and i feel like a Code rockstar - seeing the pages that i can create in a matter of minutes with CONFIDENCE and KNOW-HOW. This tutorial series is the real deal! It's from the actual organization responsible for Web standards! You are going to learn how to write code that is stable, standard and untouchable - No one can talk trash about the code i write, because it's actually from the source W3C (Not to be confused with W3S!) Do not hesitate and enroll TODAY! Do not look any further to start your self-learning path! I previously signed up to an on-line bootcamp and paid the 1st $1500 monthly fee to begin. (Crazy) The 1st portion of their course (really just a tutorial) was on HTML & CSS3 - Their lessons provided Zero background, zero context, zero depth! I found myself scouring the internet for hours for information to understand the WHY behind the concepts that they just kept hurling at you in every paragraph without any background information or context. This is when i came across the W3C course on EDX - Skeptical at first - of course, i was still enrolled in a bootcamp that i had to search Google to learn what i paid them to learn! (you can't make this stuff up) - I signed up, "hey it was free so why not" i said. I figured i'd at least learn what i was stuck on in the bootcamp here, and get back to continue the bootcamp. BUT NO WAY!! - from the very first day I began to learn, "best practices", The why behind this, the when behind that! embedding video, iframes, images, embedding audio, Intel's XDK platform, I learned how to test my code, what semantically written HTML meant and why it's used and FLEXBOX!. And i can go on forever! I cancelled my bootcamp subscription but still lost my $1500 - DO NOT make the same mistake i made - Take this course! leaving that bootcamp was the BEST and most expensive lesson I have ever learned. I'm signing up to the other two courses as well - i feel confident that they'll be just as thorough as well - Best of luck!

it would be better if a basic JavaScript concept is provided, if JS concept are given then it will be best course, although this course is good enough for a no-experience as well as an informal exposure student like me. And the other hand the instructor are good enough, and the provider is also good enough.

I just ended my first course, I was a completely beginner and I totally felt in love with the subject. It is awesome to see how many progress we can do following these classes, it really helped to increase my confidence as well!! I will continue following the other courses of the Front-End Developer program. This courses was clear and very exhaustive, perfect for a beginner or somebody who needs to consolidate notions. I loved activities, live coding videos, best practice tips and the forum part was very helpful. Thank you EDX and W3Cx for this amazing opportunity, I strongly believe that free online classes are gonna change the world!

My love for coding took me to this course, with 0 knowledge, and I loved it. I learned a lot, and I feel confident not only to apply all the knowledge I got along the course, but to be able to investigate by myself and understand the content thanks to the content of this course. I totally recommend it!!

I improved my knowledge of HTML and CSS upon completion of the course. Before that, I did not know the difference between some tags and their applications. But now I know when to use them and how to manipulate them.

Completed the course and even though I've been learning for at least a year (self taught) I learned so much more. Excellent for starters and intermediate alike, particularly in the understanding of semantics and Web Accessibility, the latter being something that seems to be forgotten about.

The course is truly as rewarding as endorsed! This is my first ever completed course in edx. And it has been a learning experience. It is an effective introductory level course, which is why I recommend this to anyone who wants to learn about web development.

The edX platform is easy to use and navigate. The course is a solid introduction to the core concepts and principles required to understand and apply HTML, and CSS. There is enough information and activities to help someone move from beginner to novice. The quizzes/exams are moderately challenging but, certainly not difficult once the modules and content are read and studied; although it is easy to slip up and provide an incorrect answer, as some topics are covered in better fashion than others - so use google, stackoverflow, reddit, etc to supplement your reading. I recommend for anyone interested in learning web development.

I had taught myself HTML and CSS in the early 2000s, but then lige got in the way and I had to drop my hobby. This course easily refreshed what I had learnt and gave me much better understanding of principles I lacked back then while easily making me understand how HTML and CSS have evolved.

I just completed this course and I feel satisfied. This is a great way to start. The course is really ok. It is good for total beginners as well as for people who may know something in this area. Some serious project is something that needs to be add to this course. My advice is not to hurry, read external links and practice as much as you can. Please DON'T hurry. Teachers are ok, but they can give more. Material is well organized, the flexbox and css grid are left for some other intermediate course (it is ok, this is just fundamentals), but with extra material given here you can learn it too. The total lenght of the course, as it written, is six weeks and you approximately spend 4 to 6 hours. I found that this is true, I finished them earlier, but I spent, I assume, 30+ hours to finished the course. I have some prior knowledge, so you maybe need some more time. Cheers and best wishes.

This is the best web tutorial I've ever taken. Much better than what I learned during my 4 years in college. I have much better confidence in creating sites as I "understand what is going on underneath the skin" concerning HTML and CSS. Flexbox and CSS grids are amazing by the way, good-by floats and clear both. :-)

This course was an amazing experience! I really enjoyed the video tutorials, recipe projects, and learning from the top providers of the industry. Flexbox is absolutely the coolest invention on the planet. The course taught me how to build my html documents to fit on numerous devices. I highly recommend this to anyone.
