I just completed the course and i feel like a Code rockstar - seeing the pages that i can create in a matter of minutes with CONFIDENCE and KNOW-HOW. This tutorial series is the real deal! It's from the actual organization responsible for Web standards! Do not hesitate and enroll TODAY! Do not look any further to start your self-learning path! I previously signed up to an on-line bootcamp and paid the 1st $1500 monthly fee to begin. (Crazy) The 1st portion of their course (really just a tutorial) was on HTML & CSS3 - Their lessons provided Zero background, zero context, zero depth! I found myself scouring the internet for hours for information to understand the WHY behind the concepts that they just kept hurling at you in every paragraph without any background information or context. This is when i came across the W3C course on EDX - Skeptical at first - of course, i was still enrolled in a bootcamp that i had to search Google to learn what i paid them to learn! (you can't make this stuff up) - I signed up, "hey it was free so why not" i said. I figured i'd at least learn what i was stuck on in the bootcamp here, and get back to continue the bootcamp. BUT NO WAY!! - from the very first day I began to learn, "best practices", The why behind this, the when behind that! embedding video, iframes, images, embedding audio, Intel's XDK platform, I learned how to test my code, what semantically written HTML meant and why it's used and FLEXBOX!. And i can go on forever! I cancelled my bootcamp subscription but still lost my $1500 - DO NOT make the same mistake i made - Take this course! leaving that bootcamp was the BEST and most expensive lesson I have ever learned. I'm signing up to the other two courses as well - i feel confident that they'll be just as thorough as well - Best of luck!

really enjoyed the online course. I thought it was well planned and layed out, easy for me to follow. The work load(h.w. & test)was just enough, so i could finish everything with enough time, learn about the topics and not feel over loaded and rushed.

I really enjoyed the simplicity of this course. The knowledge checks at the end and throughout each module are essential to keep you on track. The external resources and readings are precious as well. Well done!

The instructor provides good quality lessons in simplest of terms so that the course is easy to learn for everyone. The topics are very well organised, very nicely explained and are very easy to understand the way they were explained. The tips and guidelines, suggestions in the form of style studies are really practical and much needed. Overall, a great work !

The Recipe project along the course is so terribly looking! You don't really feel that you learn something important when you have to work with such a not stylish and old fashioned design. I would suggest to update this project to modern and beautiful one, like in CSS-Tricks examples.

There needs to be a better way to accept exercise answers. For example there was a question about CSS selectors that stated: Pretend you have a rule that needs to be applied to both headings. What selector would you use? I answered comma separated as that was what was taught. I was told I was incorrect because I had to type out h1,h2 or h2,h1. I gave the correct answer as the name of the selector but the system did not tell me how you wanted it presented. This happened multiple times within the course which negatively effected my grade. It was incredibly frustrating. Please accept multiple ways to answer exercise questions.

I think that the course offer the chance to learn many aspects of HTML and CSS. The instructors are very competent. The only thing I would change is to offer more explanation through videos, especially for what CSS is concerned. Many specific features, such the layout setting, were not easy to understand just reading a text.

I loved taking this course. The activities were helpful in practicing the skills you are learning, they also motivated me to finish the course. The exams were not easy but they also weren't too hard, they force you to use critical thinking skills to find the answer. Before this course, I took the Javascript course and the CSS Basics course from the same series. I wish I would've taken this course first because there are so many things I learned in the other courses that didn't fully make sense until I took this course. I highly recommend taking this course if you would like to learn how to setup a web page from scratch and add design in a tasteful manor.
