Excellent course, well organized, very useful information. I have been very impressed with ASU courses and this one is no exception. It is an important topic, relevant to everyone and presents good science to base decisions on. I am happy to be taking this course.

Mediocre. This is by no means a course for those with nutritional career backgrounds or health professionals. It is as the title claims an "introduction" only. The material content is outdated and rather it is based on stats and information one can find in the internet. For those with a nutrition background career, I do not recommend this course at all. And for those who plan to this course, please keep in mind that the instructor Dr. Ohris-Vachaspati´s abilities as a public speaker are extremely limited and her English is unfortunately hardly understandable.

Arizona (EdX Partnership) Came back after decades away from being at college. And took 5 courses through the ASU program and did exceptionally well, which I found out down the road, I can apply for College Credit through Arizona State University which was amazing opportunity for an old timer like myself to apply for college credit while working for my second bachelors degree at Nazarene Bible College (CO) and my second Associate at Fredrick Community College (MD) both colleges allowing me to apply the 5 classes/16 units towards my general electives. Amazing course, learned a lot in these courses.. Thanks again for educating an old fart! Arizona State University and edX - THE PARTNERSHIP was amazing, teachers were exceptional- THE SCHOOLING AND EDUCATION - ROCKS! Got to learn from some of the best Professors around and a support team that was unmatched. Thanks again ASU and edX.. WHAT IS THE WORD THE YOUNG CATS USE THESE DAYS???? AWE... It is a fairly basic course, so I am surprised this is on the credit scheme for ASU. The instruction is straight forward enough, and if you already have some knowledge of the subjects covered you can scoot through it fairly quickly.

Beenish Ahmed, Like many courses on EDx.org, it works so that you can take almost any online class for free, though there is also quite often a "Verified" certificate option, ($50 for this one specifically.) which may or may not be recognized officially (by schools and businesses, for example.) but is still a proof of your achievement, and you can also for a few specific courses get 'official' (don't quote me, this is off the top of my head!) credit, or a certified certificate of achievements (as for the Linux course) upon passing the course for a certain fee, which would be the $600 option you were mentionning. These seem to be quite "valid", as a prerequisite for applying for a school for example, but are often pretty expensive. Furthermore, some are part of what they call an XSeries, which is much more complex but is basically a very advanced and thorough, multiple-parts class that you can take through EDx for subjects like compu... Check out EDx's FAQ - I'm sure it'll be much more helpful than any information I could possibly provide you with, and you will see there are many, interesting options for people with different needs, goals and budgets. (even just telling an employer you completed a 100 hour course offered by a major internationally recognized university for example, the free option, might sound very interesting to them, for example!) Anyway, anyone can feel free to correct me if I was wrong on anything, but that's basically it - so yes, basically, you can sign up and take the course entirely for free -- just click the enroll button, where it will ask you which specific class format you want to take. :)...
