Short, but decent introduction to developing Android apps. The videos and instructions are clear and easy to follow. However, I found the homework and quizzes to be uninspiring and too easy to complete.

MM. Not adequate, but I still recommend taking this course as practice. Helps refine your programming skills in a VERY esoteric fashion. If you ever decide to learn Android App Dev. then at least you will have SOMETHING to start with. But yeah, for the most part you learn nothing. We created so many objects, but I never truly understood why we were creating the classes, although I looked it up in the Android Developer API. Well, still, I learned a lil bit about App Dev. and that's worth something. Was it worth the time? Don't know. Maybe not. Maybe it was.

The content was great, showed basic structures to creating an application. Very specific applications, this is how a class should be, otherwise too much interaction between instructor and student. Was able to create code on the last few samples based on the features learned in the beginning of the class. This class is revealing in the fact that you learn there are TONS of libs and other components that you will need to learn to develop a complete application. I was not expecting to create a 1st class app from this course, I was interested in learning the basics, and there are lot of other basics to learn. Thanks it was enjoyable.

Was quite excited to take this course, but it turned out to be huge disappointment, here is why: 1. wrote less than 100 lines of code including manually writing (not copying) example code and counting in assignments. 2. Estimated workload is 3-5hrs a week, but I spend no more than 5-6 hrs to complete all course (5 weeks). 3. Every example is already pre-made, not much opportunities for hands on. 4. Even though we used images and audio files I wouldn't know how to import any of those into project. This course could be summarized by the lecturers phrase heard multiple times: "it's not covered in this course".

I finished the course and I feel like I didn't learn anything. There is no way I could start up Android Studio and create my own app from scratch. Everything was handed to us and there were no learning opportunities. The quizzes at the end were the only time we had to think and they were just basic programming questions that someone with no programming experience wouldn't get and with programming experience they were too easy. Overall very disappointed in the course.

This course is an excellent opportunity to start surfing the Android waves. The content is varied and includes a bit of everything. The Instructor is crystal clear and the practice is ideal for the ones who are taking their first steps in Android. Some knowledge of Java is recommended.
