JavaScript lets you add interactive features to your Web sites, including dynamically updated content, controlled multimedia, animated images, and much more.

The main objective of this course is to master JavaScript best practices by means of many interactive examples, some of which are demonstrated in live coding videos.

We’ll use JavaScript within the Web browser. Why JavaScript is worth your time:

  • HTML5, CSS and JavaScript are the “classic three” for developers and designers;
  • It allows you to add interactivity to your Web sites;
  • You can use JavaScript and HTML5 APIs to create custom graphics and animation, and to master multimedia using audio and video players, music and sound effects;
  • It is powerful, easy to learn, and quick to write;
  • It has great tools (editors, runtimes, lint tools, browsers, and third party libraries) as well as great online support through plenty of active open source communities.

At the end of the course, we expect that you will be able to read the source code of any JavaScript example found on the Web, learn from it, tweak it, and even – why not? – start contributing to open-source JavaScript projects. This introductory course will make you think like a JavaScript developer.

I wonder if there is a way to name the course so that in the final certificate will not appear words like> "introduction", "beginner", "basics" or so. Because I'd like to add it in my Linkedin profile.

Everything was clear and well explained, all the topics were covered in detail, could not expect more of a beginner JavaScript course. The accent of the professor was sometimes a bit hard to comprehend, but there are CC and transcriptions and after the video the full topic is covered in written version so that wasn't an issue.

I think if you don't have previous experience with JavaScript this course will be way over your head. I think since its a beginner course more could of been done to simplify the content so that it can be better understood

This course is great. You are given all materials to learn JS. "Live coding" videos are really helpful. Even more I was amazed by teacher's participating in student's discussion feedback. I think course is quite well structured (because almost everything is connected) and has cool exercises for practice. Strongly recommend to pass, you'd love it!

This course has really been helpful in developing my understanding of JavaScript. The lessons are laid out in a clear and concise manner and the projects really help to solidify the material learned. The professor is also really involved in the discussion forum and provides feedback on the projects. It's really helpful to have a professor involved in such a way. Take this course! Don't think twice! Highly recommended!

This was a great course that more than delivered on what it promised. The teaching videos and examples were excellent and very focused. I came to the course with no previous experience of JavaScript and feel that I got a very thorough introduction that covered a lot of ground. As well as presenting the material very well, the instructor was very generous with his time in responding to any issues or difficulties students were having. His delightful French accent was also very cool! I have no hesitations in recommending the course to others.

A Javascript course with a different approach: lots of short videos (with links to the source code samples on codepen). In addition to the theory, the course shows how we can apply the Javascript knowledge on cool HTML5 examples. And finally: the course gives you an introduction to some of the new es6 features and lots of best practices. In a nutshell: 5 stars for an amazing learning experience.

It was great that I could take part into this course. I think it was great experience , refreshing my knowledge in Javascript. I going to continue my learning ang participate in whole W3C profesional certificate program. There were however few problems with gaining certificate, althogh I paid for it and passed the final exam. The course remains still active, and in my Program page it appears as "In progres" as well.

Excelent course, it's very complete and easy to understand. The teacher is great too, he explains everything he shows to the class. Plus, it's from the W3C, the organization that sets the web standards.
