Course Description

This course is part of the Microsoft Professional Program Certificate in Front-End Web Development.

The orientation course is designed to introduce the student to the Web Front-End Developer discipline by introducing the various technologies that computer programmers use when creating web sites.

The technologies are focused on aspects of web development that are part of the front-end of a web application, more specifically, code the executes on the client computer rather than on a server.

This course is the first course students take as a part of the Web Front-End Developer, Microsoft Professional Program. It will introduce the topics that will be a part of the course work throughout the program. Students will gain an understanding of the technologies and have the opportunity to explore some code and developer tools for work on web applications.

It feels great to code and see the result immediately, one of the things i enjoy about the course. Most times it was not so easy coding close to perfection but it's the best course i've had so far. The practical aspect and clarity of the instructors are great! Kudos to MICROSOFT!

This course is very poor, I expected much more from Microsoft. The price is too high. I do not recommend wasting of time.

I'm giving this course a neutral score of 3 stars because I don't see where an introduction to the certificate program covering samples of the program overall should require the user to pay in order to qualify for the final front-end certificate. This is just an introduction. I can see being required to finish it and then paying for the more detailed, focused courses in order to get the certificate but $99 for this overview, which is required in order to get the major final certificate after taking upwards of 10 or 12 additional classes after this, is a bit much.

This course is your basic overview course as part of Microsoft's Professional Program. However, in order to have your progress tracked on Microsoft's site you must do verified certificates, via edx, for all the courses listed. This can easily get costly and this course is definitely not worth the $99 verified certificate. Most of the information presented here is already free elsewhere. Save yourself the money and at most only audit the course.

The course was very basic, for complete novice, i feel that i got a great fundation with this course, it teaches you the basics of how a web works, the diferent tools, the diferent frameworks, etc. The videos were great, the exercises and labs were very unforgiving, they are simple choose your answer, but some questions were to open. All in all i recomend this course to anyone who wants to learn the basics for web development. Good Luck!
