Great security introduction course that covers a broad range of topics. All of the instructors are of top quality. JSW was the most enthusiastic - you'll see what I mean.

I've just completed the wonderful Network Security course on edX. The content is great and presented in a very enjoyable way, taking this course does not sound like learning at all. The instructor is a real enthusiast of this topic and it comes through very well. I would like to say a BIG thanks for this material ;)

First, you should know: this is a difficult class. You are required to assess not only how information is transferred--including at bits with some of the 1's and 0's in packet frames--but also various network structures. Then you must learn how these mechanisms are sabotaged. Some of the basics are dry. For your own benefit, it's also best to learn the tools provided in the class, but that takes time and you may encounter problems. For the uninitiated, perseverance is key. Go slow--even minute by minute if necessary--and it will come to you. That said, Professor Weissman is extremely knowledgeable and uses fantastic analogies. There are many animations to assist in how information moves within networks. He shows as well as tells, and does a great job in getting students up to speed on many of the subjects and applications within Network Security. The course covers a lot of ground. But I've walked away with a more comprehensive ... First, you should know: this is a difficult class. But I've walked away with a more comprehensive understanding of how attacks are carried out and how to counter them.

I have seen quite a number of training in professional life, but Professor Weissman's enthusiastic and delivery is quite awesome. He makes it quite easy and logical for students to follow and internalize the content.
