Course Description

A transition to sustainable energy is needed for our climate and welfare. In this engineering course, you will learn how to assess the potential for energy reduction and the potential of renewable energy sources like wind, solar and biomass. You’ll learn how to integrate these sources in an energy system, like an electricity network and take an engineering approach to look for solutions and design a 100% sustainable energy system.

This course is an introduction to the Master Programme Sustainable Energy Technology at TU Delft and is aimed at Bachelor students from science and engineering disciplines.

The course had a lot of errors in the quizzes, and i did not like the content from the last part more exactly (Integration in the Electricity Network and Storage )

Overall, the course is really nice and I have learnt a lot of things. The content is really interesting and the lecturers explained in general very well all the topics. I would have liked to go a bit deeper in some of the topics, but I understand that this is an introductory course, so I am satisfied. The thing that I liked the least was that some exercises contained mistakes or were a bit subjective (especially the pros/cons ones). But having said that, the course was great! Thank you.

Highly relevant course for the future. Renewal energy potentials abound in Ghana and Africa and i believe i can contribute to harnessing this potential after completion of this course. The lecturer Professor Arno Smets has all it takes to handle this program since i have followed his course on Solar Energy

I think it is a complete course and I'm interested because I want to apply this knowledge in my country to also reduce pollution caused by the use of fossil fuels such as oil or coal . I want to find new ways to implement them or undertake small projects in order to form consciousness.
