In Skillshare’s unique philosophy, everyone is a teacher, and everyone is a learner. Rather than a traditional lecture format, courses are offered within a global online learning community in which learners collaborate and learn by doing. Instructors are industry leaders who share their skills with anyone who wants to learn. No credits are offered. Founded by online entrepreneurs Michael Karnjanaprakorn and Malcolm Ong, Skillshare’s online “campus” was launched in April 2011. Its catalog has grown from 15 to more than 250 online courses that cover creative arts, entrepreneurship, branding and marketing, lifestyle and technology. The School of MakeOurMark, with courses in photography, illustration and tattooing, was launched in October 2013, and the School of Design went live the following month. Among the instructors who have taught courses are Seth Godin, founder of online marketing firm Yoyodyne, who teaches a class on entrepreneurship; DJ Young Guru, who leads a course on mixing and recording; and actor, writer and director James Franco, whose course focuses on screenwriting for short films. You can begin a Skillshare collaboration by taking an introductory course in a particular area to learn, for example, the fundamentals of Photoshop and expand your knowledge with a five-part, in-depth Photoshop series.

This class is fantastic for the Photoshop novice, or the former design student who just needed a refresher (me). I learned how to use Photoshop while studying interior design in college, but since graduating I unfortunately haven't been using my skills. Meg re-introduced me to the program in an easy to follow way, and now I feel more confident in my design endeavors. I will definitely be taking her other courses.

I really enjoyed this class. I needed a Photoshop refresher and this was perfect. Meg was very thorough in her explanations... she didn't go too fast or too slow. I would recommend this class for anyone new to Photoshop or someone who needs a refresher.

This class was great! I had a very basic understanding of photoshop before taking this class. Meg hit on tools and commands I had never used before that I now use everyday! The project was fun and a great way to ease myself into learning photoshop past the basic skills I had. Highly recommend!

This was a great class to cover Photoshop basics! Before this class, I had a little self-taught Photoshop experience—primarily photo touch-ups. This was a great way to solidify what I knew, familiarize myself with some new tools, and increase my confidence. Meg is a lovely teacher and the directions are wonderfully clear. (Thank you, Meg!) The final mood board project is a nice culmination of the skills taught in each lesson and the repletion of placing images in the frames, organizing my layers, etc. ensures that I'll remember what I've learned!

I truly LOVED this class! Meg is a great teacher. I had no idea what I was doing on Photoshop before this class and now I feel like I have a pretty good understanding on how to make a really beautiful mood board. (How to create sections, how to import photos into those spaces, how to create layers, name layers, create groups!) I'm happy with my final project and I'm looking forward to enrolling in more of Meg's classes. I am very excited to discover and develop my own personal style and look to my work. Thank you Meg & Thanks Skillshare!

After finishing all five sessions of Meg's Intro to Photoshop series, I feel much more confident in all of the tools that Photoshop has to offer. Her use of outside resources and references to shortcuts and her own personal tricks are extremely helpful. I'm excited to take more of Meg's classes. Thanks so much for sharing!

Good introduction to Photoshop in regards to using adjustments to enhance your photography. Learnt a couple of new things I hadn't picked up on while using Photoshop before. Mood boards was also a good addition in helping to use Photoshop to create something good looking. Well-rounded introductory lesson that pushes me to delve deeper into the world of Photoshop.

I enjoyed this class. There were a couple of small blips in sound / dialogue, but overall the class was very clear, concise and set at a good speed to follow. I have experience experience with Photoshop but am currently looking to switch over to a career in Graphic Design and completing this course allowed me to see a clear workflow and learn tips and tricks I didn't previously know about. The resource links included in this class were also very useful. Thank you Meg Lewis!
