In Skillshare’s unique philosophy, everyone is a teacher, and everyone is a learner. Rather than a traditional lecture format, courses are offered within a global online learning community in which learners collaborate and learn by doing. Instructors are industry leaders who share their skills with anyone who wants to learn. No credits are offered. Founded by online entrepreneurs Michael Karnjanaprakorn and Malcolm Ong, Skillshare’s online “campus” was launched in April 2011. Its catalog has grown from 15 to more than 250 online courses that cover creative arts, entrepreneurship, branding and marketing, lifestyle and technology. The School of MakeOurMark, with courses in photography, illustration and tattooing, was launched in October 2013, and the School of Design went live the following month. Among the instructors who have taught courses are Seth Godin, founder of online marketing firm Yoyodyne, who teaches a class on entrepreneurship; DJ Young Guru, who leads a course on mixing and recording; and actor, writer and director James Franco, whose course focuses on screenwriting for short films. You can begin a Skillshare collaboration by taking an introductory course in a particular area to learn, for example, the fundamentals of Photoshop and expand your knowledge with a five-part, in-depth Photoshop series.

Chris keeps this class simple and everything is pretty straightforward. Whether you're a novice or have done this for awhile, it's worth taking a look at and you will learn something. I've been designing t-shirts for a couple of years and Chris's class had a few little pointers that were useful

I skimmed through these videos yesterday after purchasing the class. Already a couple tips are saving me some time on the production end. A lot of this I already knew but was good to get a review of it, I'm sure once I delve further in I'll pick up a lot more. All in all a $20-30 (can't remember the price offhand) investment that'll probably save the company I work for a few hundred dollars in the long run in time.

The additional resources are definitely worth the price of the class. This is not so much a tutorial on how to use any particular program, but a great lesson on what to consider when conceptualizing and refining artwork intended for printing t-shirts. His hints and tips along the way were inspiring and I was able to pump out about 10 simple, mostly typography based shirts- ready for printing - within a day of watching the videos. It's super helpful to know how to prepare the files so printers understand the artwork.

This class covers all of the basics of t shirt design. This especially focuses on the idea of branding and developing your brand. For my brand I had a lot of ideas and this course helped me narrow/focus my thoughts.

Very interesting and informative! Really enjoyed it. It does dawn on me after taking this class that there's a lot more work involved in making a cool t-shirt than I'd previously thought. Still, time well spent learning how a successful designer like Chris works. And at a good price too!

Two part review here. First the good. This is a great opportunity to see how a successful tee graphics designer designs a shirt. For me this was huge since I had no real schooling and often wondered how "others" do it. Chris provides valuable info regarding everything applicable from design to screen printing tees. If you are a freelance designer, or want to be, this is for you. Now the bad. I got into this class later then the start date, like 2 months or so. With the being said, if you are seeking any feedback on your project, you will not get any from Chris, maybe a pier, if you are lucky. The projects you see that have a lot of feedback and likes are those that started the class when the class became available so everyone was on that hype train of being supportive. Overall though, for me, I took for my own benefit to see if what I have been doing the last 4 years was right.

Johnny Cupcakes is one of my favorite clothing companies, so it was pretty cool to see the main designer teaching a class that I am able join. I am able to learn from one of my inspirations right at home on my free time. Everything so far is really good, I'm learning great tips and pointers on how to better my work. Great class!

Loved this class! I'm a beginner when it comes to graphic design, but I think this class would also be appropriate for people who already know graphic design but specifically want to learn more about t-shirts. The pace is not too slow or fast, and the additional links and PDFs are very helpful.

I really enjoyed taking this class and being involved in the whole project. It was awesome to see some of the designs developing and to get an insight into the different ways of approaching the creative brief. Chris was a really helpful teacher with loads of feedback given which was incredible considering the amount of people in the class. Very highly recommended.

Chris is awesome! I sat on the sidelines through his class because I'm not that proficient in Photoshop. What I did pick up from him would have taken years and lots of $$$ in mistakes to figure out on my own.
