In Skillshare’s unique philosophy, everyone is a teacher, and everyone is a learner. Rather than a traditional lecture format, courses are offered within a global online learning community in which learners collaborate and learn by doing. Instructors are industry leaders who share their skills with anyone who wants to learn. No credits are offered. Founded by online entrepreneurs Michael Karnjanaprakorn and Malcolm Ong, Skillshare’s online “campus” was launched in April 2011. Its catalog has grown from 15 to more than 250 online courses that cover creative arts, entrepreneurship, branding and marketing, lifestyle and technology. The School of MakeOurMark, with courses in photography, illustration and tattooing, was launched in October 2013, and the School of Design went live the following month. Among the instructors who have taught courses are Seth Godin, founder of online marketing firm Yoyodyne, who teaches a class on entrepreneurship; DJ Young Guru, who leads a course on mixing and recording; and actor, writer and director James Franco, whose course focuses on screenwriting for short films. You can begin a Skillshare collaboration by taking an introductory course in a particular area to learn, for example, the fundamentals of Photoshop and expand your knowledge with a five-part, in-depth Photoshop series.

I recommend this class for anyone who's interested with animation. It was quite easy to follow and the steps were explained in clarity, making it possible for beginners to learn some neat after effects animation.

Very good class. I was trying the Lynda version of AE class and while very thorough was very hard to follow (for me). I'm kinda of a jump in a get my feet wet learner and this worked very well. I had to run it several times, but more for rechecking what I was doing and working the bugs out on my end. Only downside, and this is very minor, is that the class is based in After Effects 5 and im using AE Creative Cloud which made for a few things not quite lining up. Overall a good class and I'll try some of the other ones as well.

Wonderful intro to AfterEffects! The instructions/pace were a bit fast so I had to rewind several times, but turned out well in the end.

A good beginner's course into character animation, the teacher does a good job going step by step. Although the course video are fuzzy, especially when you view them in full screen, the teacher compensates by providing the course files after each step. Despite this, I would highly recommend this course.

Moves a bit quickly for a beginner course, but it was the first Skillshare course I completed. I am a lot more familiar with After Effects now and am thrilled to know how to create my own GIFs!

This class was my first introduction to After Effects. The instructions were simple and it was a fun project I was able to complete in about 4 hrs. My only criticism is the video quality suffers when it's at full screen, making the menu items hard to read. Other than that, great class! I would recommend this to anyone looking for an intro to character rigging.

Great class Fraser. I've a been doing Motion Design for over 8 years now and never really delved into doing any character animation. Recommend taking the class even if you do consider yourself are seasoned in AE and AI, good tips and tricks.

Concise, easy to follow and very effective in producing results. This short class goes through a lot of techniques and conceptual approaches. I've taken a lot out of it and hope to use this knowledge in future projects.

What a great, quick, useful class. You can get through it in a single sitting and there are some really valuable insights and techniques. Trim paths in particular are an incredibly useful tool of which I was previously unaware.

Cool class! Very easy to understand, and the final product is really solid! I recommend some previous experience with After Effects (some of the instructions are shown quickly so you may be a bit lost if you don't know what's being shown).

What a great class! The steps are broken down into coherent, edible chunks, and the instructions are very clear. This was my first time on After Effects, and I've only recently started playing around with Illustrator, but I managed to complete the project just by watching the videos (full-screen). I should also mention I was grinning the whole time I was taking the class. Block off a few solid hours and give this class a go!

I really enjoyed this class. Once you go through the lessons and see your final product, you will be itching to animate a ton of other characters. I liked the pace of the class, even though I had to rewind a bit. There were some cool tips and tricks to pick up as well.
