The content of this course has been up-to-date. The concepts of JavaFX has been taught so that the student can understand it easily. Craig is a wonderful teacher who encourages to not to give up even if you're bad at design and gives references to ridiculous stuff

The content is good, does not reflect the latest change to the tool, however you can figure out easily with the guidance of the instructor. The pace is great and I really like Craig's enthusiasm and energy to deliver the explanations.

Build a JavaFX Application is the last course if you're taking the Treehouse 'Learn Java' track, and it's a great course to really build on all of the concepts that you learned prior to that point. It's actually a much more densely packed course than it initially seems - with information on event handlers, enums, animations, and more. The only reason why I took off a star on content is that at times it feels too densely packed - while it has a lot of great content and overviews, at times it feels like some topics should have been broken down even further - or perhaps lead into their own workshop (event handlers for one). Overall it's a great course - one that I would recommend reviewing at least once after you take it as there's a lot of information within it.

Great course for a beginner and concepts are introduced one by one. There is another tab in the fxml tap called "Scene Builder" and it looks like a select/drag/drop tool for fxml files. Maybe it can be included.

It's a nice course, I did not know about java fx before this, as for my first experience, it was good. It's a lot of material, but the videos give a good idea and the links provided in each video are good resource, but it takes a lot of time. I'm still learning and I'm looking for job in the java development world. I definitely recommend it for those who a new to java and want to learn more .

I'm a professional software engineer (PHP), and I really enjoyed this introduction to Java; it had a good balance of breadth and depth. Craig is very encouraging, and gives insights into how a professional programmer interacts with others, including designers, other programmers, and stakeholders. So it's more than an introduction to Java. :-)

Very well course! Craig is awesome! Sometimes it's hard to understand everything, but with treehouse it's a lot easier. Now I'm on my way to start a new treehouse course. Thanks to all team.

A more ethically neutral example needs to be chosen. Applications like the pomodoro have the potential to turn a programming shop into the post office. Human behavior is not a good subject for automation. Trust yourself, trust good people. This was distracting. The instructor needs to set an example for others by putting more comments and whitespace in the code. To often I was told how to use a feature like lambdas without being told the underlying principles. After a while it felt like I was doing cargo cult programming.

Excellent course to get one started in GUI designing with JavaFX. Craig does a great job introducing each concept and putting it all together in the end with a cool timer app.

Craig slayed it once again. We did two seperate projects in this course, going over the key JavaFX functionalities. Not knowing any PHP or XML going into this, Craig teaches you what you need to know for design of a simple, yet multi-faceted JavaFX application.

Awesome intro to JavaFX. It was nice to see all the ways of building GUI app. Of course it would be nice to include also JavaFx scene builder basics, but I guess it could be well suited for another course. I've never used CSS before or fxml. But because of this course I've got a very nice intro to them as well. I like how Craig divides everything into parts, emphasizes team work, Agile concepts and uses Trello. The IDE is awesome, its just a pleasure to work with. And of course Pomodoro technique itself is quite a discovery for me. So five overall! Great course!

Team TreeHouse is AMAZING. Absolutely worth the money. I'm a stingy guy but I don't mind spending the $25 a month on this. I'm in college currently studying programming but I learn 5x more valuable information on Treehouse at about 5x the speed. Great great tool Also, Craig is awesome.

Really a great course! I'm impressed how easy on with how much less code JavaFX works much cleaner than swing (which I had learned in school). I'd suggest to take this course to anyone who's going to go with Java.

An excellent course! Great balance between new material and using what you have learned. I would highly recommend it. It also gives a very helpful introduction to the Intellij IDE.

This is a great course covering the latest JavaFX technologies. The subject matter is well presented, clearly explained and delivered in manageable chunks. The output of the course provides demonstrable skills and a clear direction on how to gain further knowledge. The collaborative approach encouraged throughout the course is useful in real-world scenarios. And a great personal touch at the end from an excellent teacher.

Craig is a very engaging instructor and delivers content in a manner that makes learning enjoyable. It's very easy for beginner programmers to give up when the subject matter becomes complex and leaves you feeling frustrated, but Craig makes you want to persevere and does a great job of guiding you through many challenging concepts.
