I'm going to be honest: I only did this because it was part of my track. VERY relevant part of the PHP track, granted, but it didn't exactly fill me with joy at the prospect. Let's be honest, databases just aren't a Disney movie, are they? Hey, if they are for you, please accept my apologies, I am an uninformed novice philistine. With long teeth I got stuck in. I was almost immediately won over by Andrew. And no it wasn't just because of the bow tie (bow ties are cool!). He takes you through the basics step by step, including MySQL workbench and finding your way around. I was soon quite fascinated by the power of the database and before I knew it, I was done. And armed with what turned out to be absolutely invaluable database experience. This course basically meant that when I had to try and rebuild a Wordpress site from nothing but a development, and a very basic test sort at that, database, for work, I did not have a nervous br... And armed with what turned out to be absolutely invaluable database experience. This course basically meant that when I had to try and rebuild a Wordpress site from nothing but a development, and a very basic test sort at that, database, for work, I did not have a nervous breakdown, or cry or wail or barf or throw myself off a bridge. Thanks to Andrew, I approached the task in the manner of eating an elephant, and I succeeded! I really never imagined when I did this course that it would ever be needed in my "real" life, out in the wilds at work. As it turns out, I have never been so grateful for spending my free time on Treehouse. I can't praise the content or instructor enough. It was massively helpful to be able to refer back to the video, too. Excellent work from Team Treehouse and Andrew Chalkley. Thank you so much!
