An all around excellent course. The quality is excellent, the coding tasks are authentic, and the regular practice ensures that you are making what you learn stick. Highly recommended.

This is a great course given by instructor Craig Denis. His explanation is easy to understand the Java's concept. I hope Denis will give more courses related to Java programming language to his students.

It's a great course and i had a lot of fun doing it. It would be helpfull to have online syntax check because most of my time was solving tipfellers in my code :)

The instructor was very professional and very nice. He knew what he was doing. The course was really challenging and tested me to the max. A word of advice: Don't do this course unless you've completed the Java Basics course! Thank you Craig Dennis :-)

Great introduction to Java. I have had a class in college for this, but haven't done much with it in a few years. It has been a great review. Recommended the class to my son.

Content: "Java Objects" does a solid job of introducing and defining the key component to Java and OOP (Object-oriented Programming): objects! The code challenges are enjoyable examples that comfortably guide the learner along (with a dash of Craig's humor :P), without leaving them floundering. Granted, I've programmed (in Java) before, but my brushing up still yielded really useful information! Instructor: I haven't taken courses from other Treehouse instructors yet, but Craig Dennis is very good. The other reviews say the same (or something similar). He certainly has a knack for not being mechanical and showing that even seasoned programmers make classic programming mistakes (and he explains them!). Provider: Treehouse checks out as an excellent provider/platform, so far! The interface is very sleek/modern and the breadth/continual growth of the platform certainly is pleasing.

Thanks, now i feel more confident with Java. Before meeting the treeHouse team i spent 4 weeks trying to understand Basic concepts with no luck. Craigs makes everything understandable , even things that could burn zour brain easly. The pace of the course is great.

My favourite online tutor so far:) Craig manages to make things that used to melt your brain seem quite simple and doable, and his sense of humour is definitely an added bonus. Great structure of the material, great challenges, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learnt a lot.

Very informative course, teacher is pleasant to listen to and has a nice sense of humor that makes things easier! Course includes good practices and patterns that can be reflected in any other programming language as well as provides a handful of useful tools and resources.

The content covers up very well Java Objects, it allows you to not just learn the foundations of Java Objects but also learn how to do it the best way, following standards and writting understandable code. The provider does a very good job at providing the resources for the students to learn and have a good experience while learning.

I think this is a very good course to brush up your skills in Java. Although to get a more deeper understanding probably you will have to refer the Java documentation and work through the examples again and again alongside the course.

The course centered on the creation of a simple Hangman game and introduced some Agile development terminology and practices. Several classes and methods were used to create the application and continual refinements to the code base were made throughout the course, giving the student a taste of how iterative development works in practice. Craig is an engaging, intelligent and encouraging instructor who doesn't hide the occasional minor error such as a misspelled keyword or identifier, things that every programmer, no matter how experienced, is bound to make. I can wait for the next course to learn more about Java with Craig!

This is a great course to get serious about Java! I now feel like I start to really understand how it works and can't wait to take the Java Data Structures course. Craig gives good tips and is very encouraging. I love the fact that the course is positively oriented and considers that we can make good progress!

Excellent course for beginners. You will learn the basics to understand Java. Craig does an great job, easy to understand and not boring at all, he provides quick response to the forum. Keep in mind this is the second course on line for Java topic at Treehouse, so make it sure to check the prerequisites before.

The class is definitely for java beginners, but I don't know if I would say it is for programmer beginners. Yes, you will learn something if you have never programmed before, but like anything brand new, it will be tougher to understand. For those with any (and I mean even a tiny bit) type of programming experience, this is also a great introduction to Java. I love teamtreehouse and am very excited about moving on to the next Java course that they have (java data structures).

I thought that the course was well thought out. The content was robust but very easy to follow along. This course really broke down the WHY's of programming, which I truly appreciate.

This was truly an amazing course. It started off kind of slow for me, because I have programming knowledge of some scripting languages, but I'm so glad I stuck through and did not skip any parts. I really am a lot more clear now about what the heck public static final void main(String ages){} means among many other things. Thanks Craig. Please provide more context I'm eager to learn how to put my programs on a website.

I already know the java basics from university and private studying. I took the course and can say that the instrcuctor is great in teaching and also delivers the content very good and not boring. You want to stick with the course and want to finish the small application which you are developing during the course. I am looking forward to the next course.

It was a great refresher course for me. I sped through my JAVA class in college, not really understanding the core concepts and Craig did an AMAZING job of giving just enough background knowledge to give me a better base understanding of JAVA, without getting too deep into the language and losing me. I want to reiterate how much I love the Treehouse software, I look forward to exploring many more courses!

I was expecting to understand the concepts i "learned" and my university, and i was very surprised when not only a understood everything, but actually started to like programing. I liked the clarity Craig had on the explanations, and disliked that some times i had a hard time understanding the instructions on the quizzes(im not a native english speaker). I really dont know how to improve the course, its really complete and understandable, "looking forward for the next course !"
