Loved it simple yet challenging . round my self frustrated at my self for finding bugs in my logic and code . the instructor is clear , sometimes understanding the challenges is hard because it's not 100% specific . for example sometimes I use my own words in string variables like in a name variable I would put my own name but in order to check the answer the instructor is expecting a certain string so that boggle my mind sometimes I did not realize they wanted the strings untouched

Excellent instructor...even down to the tiny details. I looked forward to reading the completion emails. They were not simply the same email message with only the subject replaced. I recommend this course for beginners and those who need a refresh.

I've taken other courses in Java but none like these.I could easily relate with the concepts and also see how they fit into the development lifecycle.I've learnt a lot and the practical approach and excercises helped a lot .Thanks Treehouse and especially Craig for this. Can't wait to checkout Java Data structures

I understand the fundamentals of programming and Java much better than when I started this course. The challenges were difficult at times, but even when I didn't quite understand how to solve the them at first, I never felt lost or way in over my head. Eventually I was able to complete the challenges. I liked how the challenges put you in a different project, it made me understand the material more and really feel like I "got it" instead of just repeating the exact same code shown in the previous video. I really appreciated the instructor's positive attitude throughout the course.

Great Course. The videos have a good length and the tasks are varying well! The Instructor is awesome. I directly want to join his next course :). You learn quickly how to work with a java workspace, how to create classes, instanciate them and overall working with objects.

The course was awesome. It is structured in such a way that it becomes easy to apprehend the concepts. However, some of the exercises had vague questions which actually made it difficult to ascertain what was actually expected of me.

I liked the JAVA course matter although I was hoping to move to the actual Android section a little more quickly. I found it slow to toggle between the videos and the workspace but the process does work and I did learn. I would rather use Eclipse or other IDE from the start but can see the value of "Workbench" for beginners.

I was hoping there would be a little more about inheritance and interfaces, and when to use them. These are subjects I learned a little about previously but need a refresher and could definitely use some clarification on. I would also like to see some content on setting up to work through a command line compiler, and through an IDE like Eclipse. Basically, the only thing I didn't like was that there are not currently more courses for Java available through Treehouse, and I expect they have a number of subjects in the works, even as I am writing this.

Again, despite my previous experience with Java, I've completed this course feeling as if I understand the fundamentals of programming and Java way better than I did when I started the course.

I expected to learn about Java Methods, I learned about them and more, becoming more familar with the terminology was something I did not expect, but fully appreciate. I really liked how the challenges put you in a complete different environment to make sure that you have learned what was just taught, you had to apply what you learned in an unfamiliar context. I disliked how sometimes the questions posed seemed vague, and open ended such as an early one where after having to read the question a few times I realized they were asking for a && symbol to state the user was both ready and refreshed for a course, however i believe this had already been fixed to something less vague. These are the improvements I would hope to see as going through the course I came across them a few times, however with being a new course you;'d expect to find these.

The course is very unclear and from personal experience, I know that one error in a three minute video where I watched many times and I still do not know what I am doing wrong can take over 2 1/2 hours to do.
