In SQL Basics we’ll take a look at what databases are and how you can retrieve information from them. Databases can store massive amounts of information to be retrieved at a later date. Databases act as the memory for dynamic web sites or mobile apps.

I felt Andrew was very articulate in his explanations. I'd been struggling with SQL for a while and hadn't managed to wrap my head around it until he explained it and the interactive challenges was great. It was really useful to be able to apply the knowledge.

It was easy to comprehend and done is a "real world" context. One of my favorites course I have taken at Treehouse thus far. I hope more courses focus on the real world application in this manner.

Great course on the basics of SQL. The instructor's enthusiasm is contagious and he presents the topic with clarity and simplicity. I would like to see a course on advanced SQL as well as a course with integrating databases into websites.

In some parts, a little *too* basic--like many Treehouse courses. The instructor's enthusiasm is great, but what Treehouse often fails at is putting topics in context. I'd love to see Treehouse shift focus to more project based content ("Build an X with SQL", etc.), like other competitors. Chalkleys' one of the better instructors, but many of the others (like Huston Hedinger) know their topic but are borderline awful at teaching it to others.
