Course Description

This class teaches you how to build powerful web and mobile apps and host them in the cloud, without writing a line of code. By the end of this short course, you'll use the skills you've developed to conceptualize and create your own app. To get you there, your instructors Samantha and Andy will first help you build an app that could be used to manage logistics at a music festival. Though this is a very specific app use case, the skills you learn will be applicable to just about any business app you’d want to develop.

Great into class to the Salesforce platform. The title of the class should really be "Intro to Salesforce". It helps you become familiar with the layout of the point and click part of Salesforce and gives you a taste for what it is capable of. The instructors were easy to follow and interesting to listen to. The best thing about this course is that you can actively participate by building the same app as the instructors as you go along, which I find helps me to retain the info much better than just listening and watching. The thing to keep in mind is that this is an intro course. Of course they could dive deeper into the capabilities of the platform, but then I suspect the class would be hours longer. As someone who is brand new to Salesforce, I felt this was the perfect place to start. I now feel comfortable enough with it to start learning the more complex aspects.

It's a great introduction course. The previous reviews expected the introduction course to go beyond introduction which is improper. They way of teaching was amazing. Andy acted if he don't know anything about Salesforce and got to learn some basics as we all beginners did. The explanation and the clarity was above average and it was really fun to follow this course.

This class provides an overview of Salesforce, a software platform that lets you create applications in the cloud. Salesforce lets different groups of people like managers, employees, contractors and customers interact through web applications and gives the user a variety of tools for aggregating, crunching and displaying data. The course is presented in a novel format: Udacity's representative Andy assumes the role of the student and learns all the material at the same time as online learners. A representative from Salesforce, Samatha, teaches Andy step by step, which makes it easy for an online learner to follow a long and do everything that Andy is doing. I found that the format worked quite well. My main gripe with the course is that they could do a better job explaining how you would actually deploy and use a Salesforce App in real life. It would be nice if the course was a bit longer or if there was a follow up class that goes ... It would be nice if the course was a bit longer or if there was a follow up class that goes into more detail about using Salesforce and advanced features. I feel like they breezed through all the basics and just when things starting getting really interesting, the class ended.
