I learned a great deal in this course. Justin Gilson knows his stuff and has a good clear voice and a personable way of teaching. Succinct explanations, to the point, and his suggestions really work.

For those who´ve never tried defragmenter, disc cleanup or the like - paying someone else to "repair" their computers instead - this course is fine. It explains the basics in a detailed yet concise manner. It will not make you a "repair" professional, but you´ll be able to keep your computer more or less tidy.

This course's topic can be really deceiving. the topic clearly says - "Computer Repair For Beginners and Experts Alike" It sounds like a hardware troubleshooting course. But, instead this is a course which describes how to increase performance of your computer instead. It DOES NOT teach you to "Repair" your computer. Well, instead if the course would have been named as "Increasing Computer Performance for Beginners" then it might be a good course. But, for all of you who are going to take this course, I must warn you that if you are looking for a hardware troubleshooting course, then this is not the course for you! But, instead you can learn to increase the performance of your computer by taking this course :)

I responded to your request for a review of your course. I am new to Udemy & wanted to see at lease one way a course was put together, so it seemed like a fair trade. Also, I have some experience in what you are teaching (although it isn't what I want to teach: that is art related). First the problems (all of which I thought were minor, &, interestingly enough, more politically correct). First, while I understand your distaste for toolbars (I share it), & hidden add-on programs, I think you risk the annoyance of your audience by the excessive amount of anguish you express over it. I think you should also delete the government comment in the "secret 2" section. Some of your customers may work for the government & take offense. Certainly the government would be reluctant to hire you to teach courses, should they see this, nor would anyone working for government recommend this course, or you, to their superiors. In Secret 4 you say some... I responded to your request for a review of your course. I am new to Udemy & wanted to see at lease one way a course was put together, so it seemed like a fair trade. In Secret 4 you say something to the effect of "I know this is over some of your heads..." or something like that. It might be more diplomatic to say something like "I realize that this is more information than most of you are used to. However, all you need to do is follow my step-by-step instructions to achieve this result..." Having said these things, which are admittedly minor, I would say that you have an excellent presentation manner, tone of voice, & feeling of patience, & an understanding of our student's difficulties. You also give the impression of being very thorough. I would say these are probably the most important qualities. The difficulties I pointed out were more scripting than anything else. Overall very well done. : )

Throughout the course, Justin explains many things we all heard about but don't necessarily action regularly... backup, disk clean up, defrag, etc. He gives a lot of examples and provides valuable tips and tricks. He is presenting the information using the proper lingo but then reiterates it in an easy to understand language for the everyday end users... Great job!! He sure gave me the confidence to improve my computer speed without having to pay a professional. Thank you Justin :)

I am no computer genius but this coarse broke it down, explained it, and taught me a lot. I am a very visual learner and this coarse shows you everything that you need to click on step by step making it easy. Also, it had little quizzes after each section which helped me retain the knowledge that I learned and he also gives you the info and tools to keep your computer running at fast speeds. Well worth the price of admission.

I have an older Dell laptop with Windows Vista. My computer had not been hooked up to the internet for about two years. I saw my computer getting slower and slower. With this course it has greatly improved the speed and performance of my computer. I would recommend this course to EVERYONE! Very good!

I am a very novice computer user. I wasn't sure I would be able to understand anything in this course, but, Justin covers everything so well and explains it in PLAIN ENGLISH. It was so easy to follow along and now my laptop is running faster than it has in a long long time. I encourage everyone to take this course, it really works and it definitely just saved me about $150 dollars because I don't have to send it in to get fixed. Thank you for the great class Justin. -Ann

This course is an excellent selection whether you're a novice user or you know your way around a keyboard. I've done computer repair and maintenance for a number of years now and this has been a wonderful refresher course. The professor is clear and concise, and avoids using a lot of jargon. This is something I believe is very important especially if you're teaching a beginning course for people who may not be familiar with the terms. This is a wonderful course for users at any level of knowledge!

I was a little afraid to take this course at first, because I'm an absolute computer novice. But Justin lays out this course so well and explains things in great detail and in PLAIN ENGLISH! That's what I loved so much, he relates computer terms to normal English so I know exactly what he's trying to say. It is sooooooo simple to follow this guide. I took notes, and then just did what he said, step-by-step and like promised, my computer is running like brand new. I just hate that I have spent so much money in the past, paying friends or The Geek Squad to do what I just did in less than 2 hours. Thank you Justin your course is amazing!!! -Terrin Edwards
