Jeff helps the student build a solid foundation for using Excel in very practical ways. As a daily user of Excel for years, I've often thought that it is one of the most useful business tools out there, and should be required for all high school and college students. This course is great for those who want to get started with Excel quickly. Jeff presents a nice variety of Excel functions and features, both demonstrated and practiced. I picked up some very valuable tips and tricks myself!!

As an college instructor teaching information systems for 12 years, I have to say this is so far the most practical, business-oriented Excel tutorial I have seen. It has a complete story line to follow through so you are very clear at the end what you have accomplished. The example used is very realistic. And both business concepts and Excel technique are covered adequately. I especially appreciate that lecture towards the end that talks about how to actually write up a report using the findings. If you are just beginning to learn Excel, you will benefit to take the entire course. On the other hand, if you already master the basic skills, you can jump to section 4 and learn the pivot table and chart. Overall, highly recommended to beginning and beginning/intermediate level Excel learners with a business orientation.

Brilliant course! I’ve been very impressed. The instructor prepared very straight forward course with real life data, teaching people business logic using Excel. Each lesson covers few basic principles with real data so it is easy to follow and understand. Although I consider myself to be an advanced Excel user, I still learned new functions and better ways to accomplish tasks. Jeff, give us some more!

I have been putting off learning more about Excel. This course allows you to learn at your own pace. The instructor explains why it's important to learn and gives real world examples. You don't have to enroll in a community college, buy expensive programs, or feel embarrassed that you don't know a lot about computers he walks you through the steps. I am glad I took the course.

Overall, the Basic Excel and Business Analytics course is an excellent starting point for those who want to get started with Excel and learn the power of using Pivot Tables. This is a course that is professionally done and well documented. I particularly liked Jeff's style of teaching and review. He has the rare ability to present complex material in a simple, step by step, easy to understand format. The homework assignments are well prepared and easy to understand. There were a few minor areas of confusion that required some thought and playing around to resolve. During the demonstration and creation of Pivot tables the Pivot tables were sometimes created using the Compact Layout (Field names not displayed, Lesson 4-5) and then switched to the Tabular Layout (Field names displayed, Lesson 5-2). I definitely will be experimenting with pivot tables in depth to determine if they are worth using for the type of data analysis and present... This Excel course effectively teaches the basics of Excel to those who are either unfamiliar to Excel or business analytics. For those who are already familiar to Excel or basic business invoices like I was the beginning of the course may be nothing new. However there were many lessons that offered new information to me. For example this course dives deeply into Pivot tables and their potential uses in business. Overall the course is great for anyone looking to learn Excel business functions. Even if you have no prior knowledge to Excel, this course will provide everything you need to know.
