This is a great course for people who are just starting Portrait Photography. The course material is very well presented and informative. The gear list is a very helpful guideline. Charlie does a great job explaining how different gears perform different functions, how to use gears, and how to light a subject/group. This is the second course I took with Charlie. I thoroughly enjoyed both courses and my photography skills have improved dramatically.

The information is excellent, and explained in a way that is easy to understand and apply. I have studied with Charlie Borland before, and have learned so much more than i ever thought i would. He has inspired and motivated me regarding portrait photography in a wonderful way. I have started shooting portraits in a studio I set up in my home, all with the knowledge he has imparted in his course..

My kids are growing and are teens now and I decided the happy snaps with flash was not the way to go anymore and I want to learn regular portrait lighting. This class was just right. I learned what type of lights to buy and how they work. PLus as Mr. Borland calls it: "sculpt the subjects with light." Now the neighbors want pictures taken so I setup a small studio in my garage. I recommend this course!
