Very nicely presented in a clear voice with compact lectures that cover all the basics you'll need to begin building web pages. The lab work will give you an opportunity to work along with the instructor and see the code working in real time. Be prepared to hit the pause button frequently because the pace is brisk.

For the most part, I liked the class. Of course, I could go at my own pace, and rewind to check coding. Learning the hand code is important, understanding the nitty gritty. It means I don't have to pay to upgrade Dreamweaver. My primary complaint is sticking to the Mac and not differentiating how things are done on the PC. At the beginning, it was to use Notepad. I had to find out on my own how to do things and they were quite different. There was no drag files to Notepad to open them in text and I had to save the file as .html, go back to the folder and open up the edited page to see the changes because Refresh didn't work. A few weeks ago, my 14-year old son wanted to learn Javascript and I said he needed to know HTML, so he has a book and is taking a class. He told me about Notepad++ and it made a big difference. It's a free download. There are menus, tabs of all the pages I was working on, a Run menu, so I could run the page in d... For the most part, I liked the class. It's a free download. There are menus, tabs of all the pages I was working on, a Run menu, so I could run the page in different browsers, and the Refresh worked. The tags were different colors, and different when there was an error. PC users, get Notepad++. The course either has to be split in two, one for Mac users and one for PC users, or the one course has to mention how to do things in both platforms. I don't know how the other courses are taught, but if it leans toward Mac, then the same suggestion holds. Michael Kleiner

I've learned more in this 7 hour class than I did in a 6 week course I took at a local university. The instructor is prepared, easy to understand, and he breaks everything down into bite-sized pieces. I was able to follow along with everything except the video portion, and that's only because I couldn't get Miro to work on my computer, or I would have uploaded the videos, as well. If I could give this more than five stars, I would! AND, I asked a question, and it was answered within 24 hours. What more could I want? Great course and great instructor!

Thank you for putting together this comprehensive, step-by-step course. I learned a great deal. I, too, was a bit confused by the working files not including the test-video.mp4 discussed in the lesson. On a final note, if I can find intermediate and advanced web courses made by you, I will absolutely take them!

I have tried on two other occasions to learn HTML. Once with a book, and once with an online course from a local community college. The online course was equivalent to the book because you read a page of text and then built your own website. I am a visual learner and seeing the concepts in action and having them explained by the instructor while he did them made this a much better way for me to learn HTML.

Although I've been using HTML for quite some time, there were a number of new and lesser-known features that I learned here. The pacing of the lessons was well-done, with most lessons under 10 minutes. Good examples as well. One complaint is that the "HD" mode didn't seem to do much. Would have liked to had an option to spread the screen a bit so you could see the code and the rendering without a lot of overlapping.
