I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to learn for the first time, regain skills, and to learn new techniques. I look forward to any other courses from this instructor. I am looking to get back into the tech field after taking off about 8 years to pursue a career in teaching math. I have been reading about HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript, PHP and node.js as well as taking on my own small projects to learn new technologies and to get my skillset stronger. The instructor was great. I like how he just dug into the code and showed where to find documentation and did great live coding. The web resources like font awesome, google fonts, flat ui color etc were great. I added all of them to my "web toolkit". The quizzes were pretty good too. The video quality was great overall. I think 2 or 3 of the videos were not in HD quality but still readable. The sound quality was also good in all of the videos. I like to listen to my udemy... I was looking to learn how to build a basic site from scratch - but one that looks good. All the other courses teach you how to build average looking site, this is the only one that teaches you from beginning how to make it right and easy. absolutely a must

About 2-3 weeks ago i knew nothing about HTML and CSS, i'm getting to the end of my College years and i needed to up my skills, and this course gave me everything i needed to know about HTML and CSS, of course there's still some tiny things but i'm sure if we expected him to cover EVERYTHING we would be here for months xD Ryan Bonhardt explained everything clearly and at a perfect pace for me, one thing that did annoy me just a little was relying on Bootstrap (i get a lot of pride out of doing things myself, but that's just me), but he still goes through everything Bootstrap provides, at the end of this course you'll know how to do everything Bootstrap does for you. If you want to learn HTMl and CSS quick, easily and understandably, take this course! 10/10 Thank you Ryan - I hope you're going to make more courses, maybe explaining how you can make Logging in features and more? I really enjoyed taking this course. Although I was already pretty familiar with both html and css, I learned new things and a lot of great tips. The instructor is great at explaining and makes learning web design using bootstrap easy.

I completed this course in less than a month and found it enormously helpful. Ryan, the instructor, carefully takes you through the basics of HTML and CSS and shows you how to make three types of websites using Bootstrap. Given the quality and focus of the instruction, you can learn a lot in a short time. Ryan is an engaging instructor who focuses on practical information for his students. I would recommend this course for beginners who want to dive in and start making their own sites quickly.

This is a great step-by-step course that will build up confidence as you go. The teacher is clear and easy to understand. Supporting files for each lesson are very helpful if you mess up your code and get stuck. I'd highly recommend.

Thanks Ryan for this course, i really enjoyed it from beginning to end. Although i felt at the end, being rush to completion, I have to say i've learned a bunch of stuff as a newbie coding. You gave us some good hints about free and external tools, tricks and shared your vast knowledge openly. I would recommend this course to anyone willing to learn bootstrap and get some pro tips on how to quickly build websites ! Many thanks

Most of these courses teach you the theory and concepts behind HTML/CSS, and then give basic example of how to use each part individually. Having just completed the courses on codeacademy.com, I already knew most of this. What I liked about this course is that Ryan gives us much more practical examples by combining the different parts of HTML and CSS into actual, complete websites. He shows us lots of little tricks (like adding multiple css classes to an html element) which I just didn't see anywhere else. The Bootstrap/bonus lessons also give great insight into third-party apps that are commonly used and help to make development that much easier. Overall a great course which I would easily recommend!

I was making a few courses with HTML and CSS, only after Ryan I understand how to deal with divs, and it's really easy! You should do everything step by step and to the end of the course you will get a very good chance to make really beautiful responsive sites and good background to move to the next step like php, MySQL and else. Don't loose your time - start today! )))

This course was my first introduction to Udemy and I was a little leery of what the quality would be like. I needn't have worried. The quality of the videos is great and Ryan Bonhardt's methodology is spot on. He does an excellent job of breaking down the fundamentals of HTML and CSS in an easy to understand and engaging manner. Highly recommended!

I pretty watched the whole course in an evening. It's filled a lot of gaps in my knowledge and I've started from scratch on a project I was struggling with using the new found skills. It really helps to "understand" why something "is so" on a web page and this course will teach you that. Not just how, but why. The video and audio quality is excellent and Ryan does a great job of explaining each stage. With what you see and learn it's not a huge leap to go off and discover more for yourself. There is a bonus section on JS and using Scroll-Spy etc which is excellent. A really great course that I can recommend to anyone starting out with HTML5 / CSS3 and Bootstrap. 5 stars!

I am writing this review on the day I have completely finished this course. I took the course at my leisure so it took me a lot longer to complete but I completed it nonetheless. This review is for those who are thinking of taking this course but want to know exactly what they can expect to learn. First off, Mr. Bonhardt is an excellent teacher. You will learn the ins and out's of the Twitter Bootstrap template, how to use Dropbox, Github, Sumome, Gumroad, FontAwesome and a ton of other little tasty tidbits of design knowledge that will elevate you from the ranks of amateur to being able to actual build sites that look professional. Ryan did a great job explaining different components and techniques to use css to create beautiful sites. What's most useful is the example and live demo he shows during the course. It makes me very easy to follow with deep impressions.

Of the several HTML/CSS courses I've been working through on Udemy, Ryan's easily ranks as one of the best. It isn't perfect, as nothing is perfect, but Ryan backs up his claim of truly understanding how one ought to teach. Anyone can be intimidated when learning new technologies, including me, and Ryan puts you at ease throughout the course. I completely agree that the way most other instructors try to each just isn't as helpful, or it has no relevance to what you would do in the real world. While at times with Ryan I felt that all I was doing was taking someone else's work (Bootstrap templates) and modifying them...I now grasp that there's no truly original website. I own a Wordpress blog that I've wished for a long time that I could redo myself, and I believe soon I will be able to. I also would like to help others revamp some of their websites, or help in general. Ultimately, I would love to make a career out of this, and move away from QA/automation. I would also love it if Ryan created courses on Javascript/jQuery and/or PHP, or perhaps even one on Wordpress development, since so many websites are now powered by that platform. While I imagine there is room in the industry for people who only do front-end development, you can go much further if you can tackle both sides of web development. Probably the only courses that rival this are authored by Brad Hussey. I've learned from both gentlemen, but just appreciate Ryan's style and candidness more. Thank you Ryan for all your hard work. I've learned a lot!

Ryan provides many different avenues of web design in this course. I got the course on a bundle deal from Stack Social, and in the end would pay 10x plus more than I actually paid for it. So many things I learned and he covers a ton of ground. Ryan is also extremely accessible and quick to respond to issues. Definitely recommend this to anyone!

I recommend this course to anyone who feels like learning to code is too hard to start off with, because it really isn't. I thought it was too hard, but Ryan makes it look really easy with his step for step increase in difficulty. I built my own website within a week after starting this course, and it looks really great. Keep it up, Ryan!

This was a really well taught course. Ryan worked at just the right pace and covered all the necessary information to get going on Website design. The fact that it covered three different types of sites was also a plus. I'd highly recommend this to anyone interested in this area.
