I'm a guitar player of 10 years and have been wanting to learn how to play piano for a very long time. It has always felt daunting to me. This course does a fantastic job in laying out the fundamentals and building on them. I am playing (still very much at a beginner level) piano now and I've got Robin to thank. Can't say enough positive stuff about this course.

I am both refreshing my own piano skills and teaching my 11yr. old son - he's making very good progress - it's not boring at all for him like many classic art school courses.

This course had me playing from day one, and it progresses at a comfortable pace. I can see that my playing is going to advance quite rapidly. To that extent I rate the course very highly. Top marks. The feedback from the tutor is rapid and constructive. Top marks there too. I had a problem, initially, with understanding the format of the course. A quick visit to the tutor’s website (where the original course can be seen) made it all perfectly clear. On that website there are 9 separate books. The Udemy course is based on these. Each Udemy “Section” is one book, with a pdf of the complete book being downloadable at the end of each “Section”. There are no “Lessons” in the book, but the Udemy course is divided into “Lessons”, and each “Lesson” has a number of “Lectures”. I was a little slow discovering those subtle distinctions, but it’s all clear in my head now.

The course sets out to introduce you to playing the piano or keyboard quickly and succeeds. I'm now on Book 5 and would never have believed I would be playing recognisable chord progressions or short pieces so quickly. The course is well presented, the structure and approach to learning is engaging and gets you playing straight away instead of focusing on theory which keeps you motivated. Highly recommended...

I am really enjoying this course, have wanted to learn for many a year but got bored with some other courses. Robin's method of teaching is so relaxed but at the same time so informative and magnetises you into doing more. My kids are impressed after a few lessons so it must be working. I cannot recommend it enough as the PDF lessons are backed up by the video's so you can learn either method or in my case "both" as they give a sound base to build on.

I've been playing the Piano for over 10 years, but I never had anyone teach me apart from a friend explaining me the chords. Piano lectures just seemed so boring to me. I've not been able to read the scores or anything, just play by ear. This course has taught me a lot of things I did not know of, and it's been very interesting doing the practices (Something I never thought would be possible). The structure of the course is so good I think I'm able to use the same structure for teaching my little sister to play from scratch. I tried to teach one of my sisters before, but it didn't work out. Now using this structure I'm very confident I will succeed.

This is a great piano course, even though I am only at about 15% through. I am missing an easier way to repeat sections of the videos, and sometimes the notes and staves can be difficult to read while sitting on the piano. That does not take anything away from the brilliant course material

We purchased Robins original course about a year ago and loved his easy to follow approach that had myself and the kids playing some great sounding tunes within just a few hours. This new online version of the course with all new updated videos is even MORE AWESOME! Robin has combined all the new learning resources into a seamless flowing course that leads you along at your own pace with everything connected in the right order and accessible with a click. Robin, I loved your old course but this new course really knocks it out of the park. The new videos give added clarity to your teaching concepts and really help us to understand things faster. With Robin, you are not actually buying a 'course' you are getting the gift of being able to play the piano. Go ahead and sign up to this course with confidence. "It has been a couple of weeks since joining this course and I just want to comment that I cannot imagine a better presentation or format to teach the piano. The video and sound are well done and are clearly the key to helping the student be successful. Congratulations on a fine product. I am very pleased to have joined your list of students."

I find that Robin's course is a welcome and refreshing way to learn. As I understand it, music was played long before music was written and this course supports that way of learning. Robin gives you clear instruction (both verbally and visually) to get you going. I had purchased a 'dummie's' book to learn with but came across this course and find it very enjoyable to learn from. While I can learn either way (text based or hands-on visual), I found I was more excited to start the next lecture with Robin's teaching. I wasn't sure whether I would pursue the piano beyond the basics, but have now purchased a mid-level Yamaha digital piano to keep moving forward (I actually started with a 61-key midi keyboard). The additional benefit here is that the Udemy app for tablets lets you connect to the course and allows for either streaming or downloading for offline use. All-in-all, I can easily recommend this affordable course for anyone intere... I find that Robin's course is a welcome and refreshing way to learn. Robin did a nice job of designing the course and Udemy makes using the course lectures very easy. A big thanks to both.

I would have loved to have known of this course when I first started playing piano. Instead I went through the usual routine of learning scales, sight reading and being quite bored and unmotivated to practice. This course has you immersed in rhythms and chords in no time at all and it is this, for me at any rate, that has me itching to get to the piano as soon as I'm home from work. This course is the bees knees without a doubt.

I am so impressed with which this course was set up. The books explain in detail the what and how and the video and audio files that are embedded into the lessons show exactly what Robin is talking about. Each lesson is actually a number of lessons in one, as it is teaching (for example) chords, rhythms and melody, which got me playing literally hundreds of songs in no time. When you don't understand something, you can watch the video again and again. I've emailed Robin on several occasions with a question and his response time has been very quick each and every time. I really do feel as though I have a piano teacher available all the time! I've ordered other piano lessons online, but this course blows them out of the water. Even if you get through all the books (which I haven't yet), they are a valuable resource that you will always have and can go back to for reference any time. I highly recommend this course - even if they doubled... I am so impressed with which this course was set up. I took piano lessons for several years as a child but didn't practice enough and quit in the second grade books. I became interested in playing again as an adult, but didn't want to head down the same path I was on as a child--using method books to gradually learn more and more complicated songs that no one has ever heard of. I studied a little bit of theory and taught myself chords and inversions. Then I tried a few online courses and, while I learned a few useful things, I was never really able to understand things in a way that allowed me to apply techniques outside of the specific pieces I was playing. This course solves those problems and gives you rhythms and techniques that you will be able to apply to an infinite number of songs. Ever wonder why musicians who can't read a note of music can sound better at the piano than you? After this course you will wonder no more. At $49, this course is an absolute steal. I cannot imagine that there is another course that will give you this much information for such a small amount of money. Additionally if you have a child who is learning through a traditional method, I think they could really benefit from a parent sharing some of this information with them.

Robin Hall's lessons are an incredible bargain even in my Malaysian Ringgit currency. I have wasted multiple times what I paid on music-school lessons which didn't inspire me but bored me to death with rote learning. Robin's lessons are well thought-out and impart very useful and practical information that I have yet to find elsewhere. The emphasis on chord patterns is fantastic as that is how musicians compose anyway, even the classics. Now why didn't my past teachers tell me all these secrets before?

This is the best Piano Tutor package I have ever used. As a guitarist, I find it extremely intuitive to use. You start off learning rhythm patterns as you would on guitar. This means that you very quickly find yourself playing rewarding pieces of music. You will be impressing your family and friends following your first lesson.

I only have praise for this course. So far as I am concerned it has been the tool that has got me playing piano. For years I have wanted to play and after taking this course for a little while I can. I am no virtuoso, but at least I can play a tune and also sing along if I feel like it. This is a great course and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

I too, Robin's original course and find myself coming back to it even after delving into other books and programs. He is genuinely passionate about teaching and offers a unique, easy to learn, program that will satisfy both beginners and more accomplished students alike. His new and revised videos are top notch. You will love his approach and keep coming back to this fountain of knowledge long after you have completed the course. Enjoy!!

This is by far the best online piano course I have come across. Its simple building block approach gets you playing MUSIC from the beginning. The combination of text explanations and video is perfectly done, and the lessons build up confidence and understanding whatever kind of music you want to play. The Udemy format also works well. Keep up the good work, Robin, and thanks for this course.

I have always played by reading sheet music. This course allowed me to play in an entirely and more exciting way. Instead of having to memorize sheet music I can just play by understanding chords, using the rhythms, and improvising which are all taught in this course. Also, i can now play in various styles which I could not do before. You will be very happy joining this course. I am glad I did.

Whether you played as a kid many years ago or just starting out, this is the best way to learn. I learnt as a child and so wish I'd learnt to play this way. Learning basic chords makes it so much more interesting as you can hear yourself making music. Thanks for making it this easy, Robin.

I have been using the original Piano-for-All course for some time now. I had some basic musical experience on the piano but had never really progressed. Piano lessons with a tutor were expensive, especially when I didn't manage to practice enough between lessons due to work/life commitments. I therefore felt I often "wasted" my money. This course seemed to offer the flexibility I needed and I could return to any lesson I had not fully grasped at any time and as often as I chose. the lessons are rewarding from the beginning since you can play simple musical rhythms from the start. I found the course very easy to follow and like the fact that you can replay the videos to hear how your music should sound. Having looked at the upgraded videos I can see that they are even more accessible and I commend the improvement. So. thumbs up from me!

Since as long as I can remember I've tried to learn to play the piano with little or no success. I always fell back to doing one finger playing. Pianoforall laid it all out for me in an easy to understand way and after a relatively short period of time I was playing. There was nothing to memorize as it was presented in short easy to learn bits and when all of the bits came together, I was playing. Actually I was playing right from the beginning with the easy to learn cords. I'd recommend this program to any beginner or intermediate piano wannabe. Excellent training.
