I have recently completed a Master of Business program in IT Management at UTS where the course materials was part of the syllabus. I found Bryan's course materials (and the knowledge impacted thereof) invaluable in my efforts to move from a IT technical role to a IT management role. I would recommend Bryan’s Project Portfolio Management Essentials to any IT professional who works in a medium to large scale project driven organisations.

This course provides a great introduction to the essentials of Project Portfolio Management. Students will quickly acquire the basic concepts behind the PPM practice and will bring back home a handful of notions and tools to apply on their day by day work. I highly recommend this well crafted set of lectures.

This is my first MOOC and I wasn't sure what to expect when I enrolled. Obviously a MOOC can't be as interactive as a classroom lecture, therefore the focus needs to be on the content. The PPM course has clearly exceeded my expectations and delivered world-class content which I can immediately apply in everyday practice.

I have been working through the PPM course materials as a way of evaluating areas we can improve our own performance. Having worked in the technology project space space for almost 20 years I can say this is the best PPM knowledgebase I have found and at an almost unbelievable price

In addition to the PPM process lectures there is some really good context on why we need portfolio management in business. Its rare to find a discussion about the implications of portfolio management for internal markets and knowledge management, but this course has got it. Finally, being able to see how it all translates into practical step by step use of a tool is extremely helpful.

I completed Bryan's course at UTS as part of my Master's degree and thoroughly enjoyed it. The practical demonstrations of and tools provided are excellent. I like that I can view the videos on an iPad via the Udemy app, it's very convenient. The information was well structured and very practical, I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in getting a better understanding of PPM as well as to those who have already practical experience in the field of Project Management.

Bryan is an expert in this field and has managed to condense 20+ years of experience in less than 2 hours that can be consumed at anytime and anywhere. This course is fantastic and has no competition, especially considering the access to a working PPM software. The course is great and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in getting a better understanding of PPM as well as to those who have already practical experience in the field of Project Management.

This course provides great value to organizations that are striving to achieve their strategic objectives, only to be frustrated by too many organizational projects that lead them in the wrong direction. Throughout my career I’ve encountered many organizations struggling with costly projects that although may seem necessary for a section of the organization, they actually take the organization as a whole in a different direction to their intended strategic objectives. I will certainly use the knowledge and tools gained through this course.

Not only does this course provide all the information needed for managing a portfolio of projects, but it was a fantastic surprise to find that I also got access to some extremely useful Excel spreadsheets that make project portfolio management so much simpler. I thought the information was well structured and very practical. I've already started using the excel spreadsheets and knowledge to manage the project portfolio in the IT department that I manage and have already used the knowledge gained in the "Triage" lecture to make sense of our existing project challenges and what we need to do about them. For the price of an average management book, this is an absolute bargain. Highly recommended.

I completed my executive MBT 10 years ago and found it had two incredible strengths, firstly being the high quality of contemporary thinking and material on the topics chosen and the second the fantastic peer level interaction that also sparks a lot of the learning. Whilst this course does not really achieve the second, the first is the same and for 5% the cost ...

I completed Bryan's course at UTS 4 years ago a part of my Master's degree and thoroughly enjoyed it. I need a refresher now so this course is perfect for me and I'll be signing up a few of my staff here at work too. I think it's fantastic that a course of this quality is online.
