The course is easy to understand, has great content and you learn at lot of useful stuff. John speaks slowly and has a calm voice. He knows what he's talking about and guides you through the whole course. Definitely check out other courses from him.

If you a beginner Java Web programmer this course will surely help you a lot. The lessons cover quite a few topics, up from the very basic to more advanced topics. Also, they build on subjects presented before. John also shows you the errors you get when compiling and building and explains why they happen. This really helped me a lot!

This course can't be compared to other courses available on Udemy or in the Internet. During the course I had a feeling that it was only created to make some quick cash. Very important aspects are missing such as web security and basically the 'application' at the end of the course is absolutely useless. Think twice before you buy it.

This course (and also other courses from John) are the best tutorials I have ever had. They are just great! John explains complex topics in a very simple way and you can learn almost every thing you need to be a professional java developer from his courses. So I'd like to say thanks to you John, I really learned a lot from you and I strongly recommend this course (and other courses from John) to any one who really want to learn Selvlets and JSP quickly and efficiently.

Found the way the course is presented is very good. It is done in a gradual step by step procedure. The end result is a good knowledge of web programming.

John is very clever at slowly exposing more details as the course progresses. I found myself asking questions in some earlier topics that he covered in subsequent tutorials. I especially liked his thorough coverage of jstl.

This was a great course to get more in depth to java programming and various techniques that can be used such as the JSTL. A lot of good information and steps to follow through to learn more about best practices in the java programming language.

Apart from a few minor issues using Tomcat 7, and latter lessons in Section 7 (where John pre-populates the code before the lesson), this is a very informative and easy to follow course for anyone looking to get started with Java web development.

I've been watching John's Youtube videos on Java since I started learning Java in school, about six month or so ago. He really helped me out when I was in a jam, and was able to explain many of the concepts that my professor and textbook couldn't. I'm here to learn more in depth information about Java for the web, in particularly Servlets, JSP, and even JSF. I'll probably pick up on a few other things such as JDBC and Swing, and maybe learn another language such as Perl. This is a really good course. Anyone who wants to learn Java should pick this course up.

A really good way to get up to speed on servlets, jsp and jstl. By the end of the course you should be able to be familiar enough to start developing your own straight forward web application, and enough knowledge as a foundation to dig deeper. I really liked the mini-project at the end. Please add more of these types that pool together various knowledge sets from the course.

I'm halfway through this course, and am learning tons and tons. The best part is, none of the lessons seem superfluous; it's all stuff you'll actually need / use. Very cool, as are all of John's courses. I'm looking forward to getting into Spring next!!
