Until recently I didn't think I could do web design, but after having been put in the direction of this course by a colleague things started looking promising and achievable. Achievable in terms of how the course tutor has successfully structured and designed the content. What I value most in the course is the comprehensive package it comprises covering almost everything someone with instructional design ambitions would like to see put in one place. Many thanks Rob.

This is a great course, that is easy to follow and covers a large skill and tool set. The instructor has a good vocal pace and the videos are clear. There are a keen discussion group linked to the course as well as social media connections that can be used to gain extra assistance if and when needed. Review posted by user colmoore.

This course has been everything I wanted and hoped it would be. Rob is a very good teacher, and in this course he focuses not only on web development but on how to apply those skills to start a career as a freelance web developer. I would highly recommend this course to anybody.

As a graphic designer and copywriter, I'm always being asked if I can also supply web design. And if I'm honest, I've had to say no and signpost people to a developer I know. I dipped into books and online articles, but never really found a cohesive course that took me through all the elements that I need to get to grips with. Until now. This course has everything you'll need to get into web development in the fastest time. Rob Perceval gives us the benefit of his experience and skill in clear communication across a fascinating range of units that fit together seamlessly. I find that I can easily support my learning with other books and resources if need be, and this is very much hands on development, where you'll find yourself building a whole range of sites. Seriously, this course is awesome! Rob has set goals at the beginning at the course that I feel anybody can accomplish. He starts off with some basic stuff and it progressively gets more advanced but is done so in a way that ANYBODY can become an actual web developer. I haven't actually finished the whole course but I've already been able to accomplish a lot with what I have learned. One of the coolest things Rob has introduced aside from actually learning the skills to become a web developer is learning how to actually make money with those skills. He set a reasonable goal of being able to make $10,000 by learning this skill and I'm proud to say that I'm actually going to be one of those people! I'm not saying it's going to be easy but I'm saying it's doable! PS the free web hosting is worth the price alone so even if you didn't get anything out of this, you got a service that would cost more elsewhere so thanks for being awesome Ro... I'm not greatly far on in the course but I must say that what I have seen so far is incredible! The teacher (The wonderful Mr Rob Percival) is clear and confident in his explanations and seems to have thought of any problems you might have before making each lecture. Any questions he hasn't answered in the videos can be asked in the discussion and you can be nearly guaranteed a response within 24 hours from either Mr Percival himself or from one of the many students enrolled who can help (All of whom seem to have really put thought into their answers creating a highly interactive, welcoming and helpful community for a newbie coder like me to wander into). With this course, I haven't felt discouraged at all! In fact, I've been glued to my computer screen promising myself I'll only do one more exercise before I go to sleep (I can never stop at just one). The only gripe I have is that I wasted money on so many other courses before this one! Fantastic!

I've dabbled with web coding for many years and have created several web sites largely through trial and error. I took this course to try to get an understanding of the web development process and to gain an appreciation of what I was missing my teaching myself. The course has greatly exceeded my expectations. By being guided through real projects creating real web sites, the information that Rob teaches is put in to a meaningful context that goes well beyond the trivial examples that you get in most books and web sites. The course will not make you an instant expert. That can only come from additional reading and practice. However, the course clearly explains the basics and puts you in a position where you can go ahead and tackle more advanced activities with a degree of confidence. I highly recommend this course for those with no experience of web development and those, like me, who have put together simple web sites (or used other... I would also add that a significant part of the earning process comes from scanning through the discussions and trying to help others. You learn a lot about coding when you're trying to debug someone elses code. So, if you get the chance, contribute to the discussions. Try to debug the problems (debugging is the hardest thing to teach - it requires practice).

My prior experience with Web Development and Application Development was zero. I have no background in computers. Before July 2014 I did not know what a computer language was. I hope you get the picture. My passion for developing began in July 2014, and I spent 5 months and hundreds of hours sifting through online material that was not organized in a manner that I could learn. Rob's courses take all the guess work out of it. He teaches you what is important and what is needed to have a foundation in development. This might sound weird but when I go back to those old internet sources they make sense now. Rob has taught me how to think in a way that allows me to work through the information and make sense of it. I know very little but the difference is that I now know how to organize the information so that I can learn it. The content in his courses is phenomenal, but I think how he helps shape your way of thinking is invaluable. Thank... My prior experience with Web Development and Application Development was zero. I've worked in online marketing since 2009 and as with any digital role, the number of skills you need to learn to succeed and stay competitive in the job market increases rapidly. I've been dabbling at web design (awfully) for about 8 years, but never expanded my skills beyond VERY basic HTML. My New Year's resolution for the past 5 years has been to learn proper web development skills. I've followed the instructions on CodeAcademy and sifted through tutorials numerous times and while the instruction may be good, my attention wasn't. This is the first course that has kept my attention long enough to both teach me relevant web development skills, but to present them in realistic scenarios - it's kind of the closest to on the job training you can get. If you follow Rob's instructions, you could be earning additional income as a web developer or even changing careers altogether. While I've not yet finished the course, my experience thu... I just wanted a greater understanding of web development and the various programming languages used to make a website tick - and Rob definitely provided that and a whole lot more. Rob was easy to listen to and I rarely had to go back and re-listen to anything he said. All the videos were well made and easy to follow. I highly recommend this course both as an eLearning professional and a (now) fairly accomplished coder. Awesome job Rob. I'll be taking more soon.

I got this course after having gone through the Codecademy course and the W3schools tutorials. I found that while they gave a good amount of vocabulary, they weren't very practical. I didn't even know how to integrate my js into a website even if I did know the basic syntax. I'm about halfway done with this course and I've already been able to make myself a very nice template for quickly testing games (which is what I want to do when I'm done) without having to worry about layout, and I've made a few different games so far. What else can I say than to say thank you Mr. Rob Percival. I started this course with zero knowledge and to my very surprise the course was richer than I expected. I have completed 170 lessons out of 235 at my writing. The instructor responds to messages on forum and private messages within 24 hours. It’s obvious he loves teaching and that is why I will call him a passionate teacher. His style of teaching makes things clear; he explains everything he is doing to your understanding. Last year, I started learning web development via Codecademy. I felt so excited about the subject that I decided I needed more training, preferably with a more personal element. Rob Percival's The Complete Web Developer Course - Build 14 Websites is it! A few things I really like about Rob’s course: 1\. Every section is in bite-sized pieces. Rob gives you just enough to learn something new, maybe even pushing you a bit outside of your comfort zone, but without leaving you feeling overwhelmed at the end. As a beginner, I really appreciate this approach. 2\. I was so encouraged by the first few lessons that I took a sneak peek into some of the more advanced portions of the course and was amazed that Rob was able to explain more difficult topics in a way I could understand. I’m actually looking forward to diving into the more complex subjects this course offers where I was pretty nervous about it beforehand. 3\. Rob is very engaging. He... Rob's web hosting company, ecowebhosting.co.uk, plants trees to offset the carbon produced by their servers. I think that's really cool.

This course is an absolutely wonderful introduction to web development. It is an extraordinarily approachable course, built in several modules that make the learning process easy and quite forgiving at the same time. Rob's voice soothes you through each level – from HTML to CSS to JavaScript and beyond – while you can easily play catch-up or back-track a bit if you forget. I was thrilled to discover Rob's course, because it meant that I could take everything that I had pieced together in the past and build myself up in a more step-by-step process. I have always been curious about web development techniques. This course is so well designed. All what is needed to be learned for web development like HTML, CSS, Java Script, Jquery, PHP, SQL etc. is covered. The content is very well organized. The method of instruction is well planned and it comes with a resourceful and motivating e-book. The course gives lifetime access to the lessons so you can learn it time and again. You also get 3 months free web hosting at ecowebhosting.co.uk. I am using that hosting service and have started two websites also, along with the course. I had some basic knowledge of HTML earlier but that was not enough to build a website. This course covers everything one needs for web development. Mr. Rob has put great hard work making this course and has done a fantastic job. It’s a great course for beginners in the field of web development. I highly recommend this course.

The other students who respond are really helpful and friendly, and the instructor (Rob) posts follow-up responses if/when the other students get to your questions first. So you can get post about anything that you don't quite understand and help will be there. The lessons are brief and well presented, and you can review them as many times as you wish. Rob provides a learning tool (domain) through ecowebhosting.co.uk that enables you to practice the skills being learned in real time. Then you have the option to purchase a web domain through his company or anywhere else when you want to go live online. I highly recommend this course, especially for those who want to learn web development but may have doubts about their being successful in getting past any difficulties online in understanding the set-ups or material along the way.

I am half way through the Complete Web Developer Course and it's been going great so far, especially since I have very limited time to do it in. It's wonderful to be able to step in where I have left off at any time and any place. I have been a freelance web designer/graphic designer for almost 10 years, so the first couple sections were a good review, but it's been great to become more familiar with JavaScript and JQuery and currently Bootstrap. It's a whole lot more fun than slogging through a book and it covers so many areas in a very friendly and approachable manner. The instructor is very engaging and an excellent teacher and the videos themselves very high quality. I am looking forward to the rest of the course and being able to offer my loyal web clients more skills and better websites! I highly recommend this course to both beginners and experienced web designers.

Rob really knows his stuff. The videos are easy to follow along and there's plenty of pdf's to download after each chapter. There are lots of resources: free web hosting for 3mths, Rob goes into detail about the tools you need and how to set them up. Hey peeps, I was researching other courses on Web Development and it's almost unbelievable how COMPREHENSIVE Rob's course actually is. Plus the additional benefits he includes along with the course are unheard of anywhere else. After reviewing a lot of other courses on web development, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and trying them out, it's a no brainer that this one is the best. After signing up, I found Rob's instruction to be very clear, concise, to the point, I found myself focusing, doing, learning, and I completed 1/3 of the course in one sitting! Each topic is done in manageable bites which urges you to go onto the next. Completing this course definitely sets you up to be a full stack web developer. As for "comprehensive" there's no other "all in one" courses out there that cover so many "other" topics above and beyond creating websites, including sections on how to freelance, JQuery, Bootstrap, WordPress, APIs, accessing back-end ob... Rob even helps you set up a free temporary hosting account to upload all your projects. Rob - everything stated in the description about this course is completely 110% valid - thanks very much for doing this! I love when I get things right! :) Cheers! JT

When I signed up for this course, I didn't really know what to expect : so many "instructors" can make a somptuous teaser video and then leve you on the side of the road after the first chapter... although you may have paid a good buck for that! I am not disappointed. Mr Percival's courses are carefully made and he shows a high degree of command of the various content being taught as well an amazingly engaging sense of pedagogy: simply put, the guy knows what he's talking about AND he knows how to talk clearly about it. It is pretty common nowadays to find here and there various tutorials about anything, but the quality is rarely matching the promises of these so called instructors. Mr Percival has a clear voice, leaves you some time to think while you're watching the videos and the pace is not too fast, imho. If you're looking for a pretty complete, up to date and

This is the best course I have ever taken. This is coming from someone who is involved with coursera and real college classes. I am learning very quickly. I love how the clips are short emough to focus on each skill at a time. Not a long 3 hour video covering everything at once.

Rob does a great job covering all the details we need to know for web development, without moving too quickly like a lot of other courses. That makes the web design process much more manageable and enjoyable! Also, Rob does a great job using visuals to explain each process. Thank you so much!

I started this course out after browsing through the Udemy course catalogue for a long time. I have to say that this course gave me all the necessary foundation to start my career as a web developer and a true entrepreneur. I coded C in university before, but never got my hands on web development until I finally decided to learn web development from scratch, well, sort of. Having said that, the point is this course is really well structured and little examples/quizzes were provided from time to time to help you recap what you just learned. Since there are so many people taking this course, related resource is abundant. You can always run into people who are having/had the same problems. If you cannot find answers here, try google and stack overflow. What I also found important is the way you learn. Basically what I mean by that is you have to know what you are looking for, you have to have a goal when you are learning, otherwise, you... Since there are so many people taking this course, related resource is abundant. You can always run into people who are having/had the same problems. If you cannot find answers here, try google and stack overflow. What I also found important is the way you learn. Basically what I mean by that is you have to know what you are looking for, you have to have a goal when you are learning, otherwise, you would find it very difficult to follow, or you might feel like quitting halfway through the course. I wrote a long list of things I didn't have the answer for before officially starting the course, things like, "How to structure the Sitemaps", "What are the steps to build a multilingual or a dynamic website", "I wonder what a good coding pattern is?", and I kept doing so while I was learning. This little trick may sound trivial, but it really helped me to focus on solving my problems, which in turn motivates myself everyday, because everyday I am solving puzzles and thinking about how to apply what I learned from this course to real life web development. Another tip is when you don't know how to improve yourself/your work, just read other people's code on CodePen, or Magazines like Web Designer will inspire you - "Oh, that's how to do it", or "Wow, I didn't know you could do this with javascript". Practice with what you learned on this Course, or another source, be it a forum, magazine, or a book, start writing some scripts/code as you go along will teach you even more than the course. In that way, you are writing code for yourself, not just following the lecturer's thoughts (no hard feelings, Rob, your course is impeccable), that's when you will be amazed at and be proud of yourself. Finally, use the notes area to write anything that you think is useful - a reference, a snippet of Rob's code or whatever. Later you can review them by clicking on the time next to your notes, then the video will jump to the timepoint when you wrote the note. So there is the my review on my course. Forgive me if it is too long. Always stay positive and happy coding ;) And my blog -----> www.leksometech.com

As a programmer with extensive embedded development experience, this course provides comprehensive coverage of state of the art web development techniques in a 'learn by doing' format. This course filled in almost all of the blanks for me as far as web development is concerned. Those with less programming experience may get a little overwhelmed at times by the wealth of information presented. However, developing programming skills requires perseverance and a willingness to 'try again if it doesn't work the first time.' Numerous resources for each section are also included. These resources are vital in exercising and expanding one's web development skills off of the comprehensive base provided by this course. Each major course section could be expanded into its own stand-alone course and the resources provided allow one to expand each section on their own as needed. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in becoming a web ... I've purchased a couple of other courses on a variety of topics relating to development and have always been disappointed. At the time this course was a no-brainer running at a significant discount to it's normal price. I'm at module 69/235 and can confidently say I'd recommend this course to others looking to get a solid kickstart at development. Production quality is pretty good, more importantly the content builds through the course with relevant examples along the way. As a network engineer, my primary use case is to better converse with developers, however I've recommended this course to a few colleagues as well as sort of a pre-cursor to DevOps work as fundamentally many of these technologies will differentiate you from the pack if you understand them, and can implement front-ends for displaying network data. There isn't much fluff in these courses, you quickly get right to the point with a basic demo and some pointers for addi... Highly recommend this course.
