California Institute of the Arts online courses - reviews and ratings
Walt Disney firmly believed that collaboration enhances creativity. He explored that idea in his own studio and brought it to its full fruition when he brokered the merger of the Chouinard Art Institute and the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music that became California Institute of the Arts. At CalArts, learners undergo intensive professional training in their preferred artistic field and are encouraged to access programs in related disciplines including music, art, dance, film and video, animation, theater, puppetry, and writing. Everything about the admissions process at CalArts is atypical: Students are not required to submit SAT scores and are not judged on their previous grade-point averages. They must, however, submit an artist’s statement and a portfolio or audition showcasing their work and demonstrating talent, creativity and commitment. Many arts and entertainment professionals have passed through the doors. Located in Valencia, Calif., north of Los Angeles, the Institute strives to foster a learning environment that encourages artistic excellence, creative experimentation, and exploration of other artistic disciplines and cultural traditions. Register for online classes including Introduction to Programming for Musicians and Digital Artists; A History of Art for Artists, Animators and Gamers; and Creating Site-Specific Dance and Performance Works.
