École Centrale Paris online courses and MOOCs - student reviews
École Centrale Paris differs from most other universities in that it focuses entirely upon the training of engineers to meet the challenges of today’s world. It is one of the French grandes écoles—higher educational establishments that exist outside the French university system. Admission to the écoles is based upon rankings in national written and oral exams. The centralien program offered at the École Centrale is comparable to a Master of Science. Learners complete two to three years of undergraduate higher education at other institutions before beginning the program. Upon admission, they begin two years of studies in engineering, science and social sciences. The third year is devoted to studies in their chosen major field of study. The École also offers one- or two-year master’s-level programs in science and engineering, and a Ph.D. program during which learners work in one of the school’s eight laboratories. Outstanding alumni include Gustave Eiffel, designer of the Eiffel Tower and the internal structure of the Statue of Liberty, and Mehdi Bazargan, former prime minister of Iran.
