Helmut-Schmidt-Universität - Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg online courses and MOOCs - student reviews
Helmut-Schmidt-Universität-Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg is one of two universities established by the Bundeswehr to train and educate military officers of the German Federal Armed Forces. While most of those who attend are officers or officer candidates, since 2002 the university has admitted a small number of civilian learners. Prior to enrollment, learners must complete officer training and must commit to 13 years of mandatory service. At the university, they study engineering, economics, humanities and social sciences. Studies are quite concentrated, enabling officers to complete master’s-level programs in four years. Officers also conduct research in conjunction with other universities, institutions and industry. They participate in interdisciplinary research clusters based upon their field of interest, choosing from sustainable energy, conflict dynamics and social change, aviation, computational logistics and cognitive science. Each research cluster is developed around thematic goals and development of technical solutions to open questions. During their studies, officers are paid according to their rank and length of service. Fernstudium online courses offer you a rare opportunity as a non-military officer to join the ranks of learners at the university. You can improve your skills and knowledge in technical fields such as medizinstudium, wirtschaftspsychologie, psychologiestudium, etc. by enrolling in online courses such as vehicle dynamics.
